Preview 2007

You guys are lucky....I dont go to preview until june 17-18

I normally don't advise anyone to take MAC1147 unless their major or track doesn't require calc (e.g psych) because you dont use any of that stuff in calc. Trig is probably more helpful than 1147. But if it builds your confidence with taking calc in fall then you should take it.

I don't find flip flops comfortable so I where sneakers.

Parents could:

take a tour in the dorms (only broward, jennings, beaty, springs, and hume)

visit the library

sit in on a class (suggestion, carlton or clb130)

go eat at a restaurant on university (across from murph area)-there is a great sushi place (Tatu),

go shopping in the bookstore

make a reservation in the hotel in the reitz union so when they are bored they can easily go back to their room and sleep/watch tv.
7....all i can think of now

I am only taking MAC1147 becaue its a prereq to CHM2045 and MAC2311; I would reall raher not take it but I kinda have no choice. Do you think taking it over the summer is possible or too much?

Preview is hectic on day one, just absolutely exhausting. Got up at 7am to grab some breakfast and had activities until around 10pm but I ended up staying up all night anyways. the best part is registering for your classes the next day, I ended up signing up for warrington business school welcome, principles of macro economics, and man's food in the summer.

If I placed into CHM2045 through the Readiness assesment I only need to take MAC1140 (not MAC1147 if I don't want to) so I can take MAC2311 and CHM2045 in the fall right?

after preview is we want to change our summer schedule on ISIS when can we start doing that?

you have to call them and you have to pay a fee.....lol i had to change too. i'm goin on the 17th & 18th too!

question. how do we check to see if UF received our final grades yet? o and don't forget to fax them your immunizations before preview!

Wait so if I want to change my Summer B schedule I have to cal and pay I can't just go into ISIS and start changing it (Summer B only).

ooh oops i thought you meant preview dates.

Beginning June 29th you can start changing your Summer B schedule. No fees. The Drop/Add period ends July 3rd, so make sure you have your schedule however you want it by July 3rd. You can find all these dates at <a href="http://www.registrar.ufl.edu%5B/url%5D">www.registrar.ufl.edu</a> and click on Academic Dates/Calendars on the menu.

Just wanted to let everyone know to get a good night sleep the day before preview. Its a LONG day and you stay up late doing your schedule.

It is extremely helpful though even if its information overload. And everyone is really helpful. I was lucky enough to get the classes I wanted at the times I wanted.

Is there any difference in the way that Honors select their schedules as opposed to regular students?

I know that you are put in a specific small group. Everyone is split up into small groups that are completly random except for the Honors kids.

Cant say anything more about that though.

MAC 1140 does not include any trig which shows up frequently in MAC 2311. MAC 1140 is to MAC 2233 (business calc, which does not include any trig) as MAC 1147 is to MAC 2311 (calc 1/analytic geometry)

see: <a href="http://www.math.ufl.edu/course_guides/MAC/1140.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.math.ufl.edu/course_guides/MAC/1140.html</a> and <a href="http://www.math.ufl.edu/course_guides/MAC/1147.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.math.ufl.edu/course_guides/MAC/1147.html</a></p>

I really do not want to take MAC1147 over Summer B so if you had to choosie which would be better to prepare you for MAC2311: MAC1140 (precal algebra) or MAC1114 (Trig).

do we have to take the calc readiness assessment if we have taken the calc exam but havent received our scores yet when we go to preview?

they dont take estimates of your AP calc score.....you need to take the readiness test...they put me in a class called Calculus II for Advanced Placement Students which covers MAC2311 and MAC2312...its a class for incoming students who had AP Calculus and received credit for it....but I didnt receive credit yet so im not sure why im in it....i did place out of Pre-calc though from the Calc readiness test
