So, when you go to Preview, do you have to know all the AP credits you want to use? What if you're only sure of a few now. Can you claim them later on when you decide if you'd like to take the class at UF or go on to a higher level alternative? When do you have to decide. Also, can you try to CLEP classes later on, or do you have to do it before school starts this fall? I'm thinking Spanish. Someone told me they were able to skip all the CLAS foreign language requirement by taking the Spanish SAT II's and passing. How many credits would that be good for?

During Preview Prep, you should have listed the AP courses you’ve received scores for. As for future scores, you list the score you predict you’ll receive. Once you’ve finished, you’re all set and it’ll be taken care of at Preview.

I don’t know about credits, but if you’re thinking about taking Spanish and you already know some, you need to take the SAT II for placement into something higher than Beginning Spanish.

Garden, the CLEP tests must be taken and the scores reported to UF before the end of your first term if you started Spring or Fall. If you start in Summer, you have until the end of your first Fall term.

Actually, what I was hoping to find a way to do is to get enough credits through CLEP or SAT II’s to fulfill the requirements for the biology CLAS track. I can’t remember whether it requires 6 or 8 credits. Is this possible to do and what is the best way? There are just so many other things I would like to take/experience (anthropology, econ, psych) other than in my biology major, and although I took 3 years of HS spanish, I don’t really want to take more.

So you give all your AP scores at preview, but then you’re not obligated to exempt courses because you’ve taken the AP’s, right? For example, I’ve taken AP chem and scored a 4, but I still want to start with Chem 2045. That’s fine, right? I don’t have to start with 2046. Do med schools think of this as taking the easy way out or do a lot of people do this? I just really would like to have a good chem background and be well- prepared for the MCAT’s.

Tzais, that’s what I was wondering also. Where did you see this information? Thanks.

bump bump bump

you can take pretty much whatever class you want if you have the prereqs.

as for if med schools care: they have no way of knowing. if you have AP credit and then take the class again and get the same credits twice, the school automatically takes the higher credit.

i dont know if this means you get to choose (if you get a B for instance, i dont know if you can keep your pass/fail AP credit), or if they always chose the one with the grade. ap credits that have been replaced are not reflected on your transcript
