Anyone doing preview the 13th and 14th I'm excited to pick classes.

I'm going the 15th and 16th :). I'm pretty worried I will get stuck with some pretty bad classes because most are full

Preview begins next week. So, both of you should have no problems picking classes. UF holds specific seats for critical classes for each Preview and open them during those Preview time so everyone can get into the class they want.

What about non critical tracking courses? It seems like almost no other classes are going to be open considering that everyone else already picked classes

I can't wait, I'm going 15th and 16th too, but arriving the 14th and spending the night. Are we really only expected to take 6 credits over the summer? That's all UF's fin aid covered for me.

Yea victorm, more than 6 credits for Summer B, especially for the first time on campus, would be overkill

Haha and here I was expecting to take something along the lines of 15. Oh well :)

Yep. 6 is the norm, but 9 can be doable but not recommended.

Thanks, appreciate it. I was wondering though, since you seem to know a bit, if you know anything about how classes like Warrington Welcome and my Florida Opportunity Scholarship Freshman Experience class fit into this? I have to take both of them (wanna take WW because then I can do all the cool EC stuff), they're both 1 credit class, and both have the same class number *SLS1102". I need to take the FOS class for the scholarship, and Warrington Welcome is only guaranteed for freshmen their first semester :/

Both classes seem like they will be easy; mostly consisting of filler busy work, like write a one page reaction paper on the freshmen experience. Stuff like that. Student affairs dept love that type of stuff. So taking 8 credits (2 being those classes) might not be an overkill, but its up to you and what other classes you were planning on taking.

^ Bump

Any last minute advice for how to make the most out of preview?

Look over the online course catalog and course listings? lol. I was so stressed during preview last year because I didn't know what to take. I was really confused. hahaha
<~ epitome of lost freshmen with dazed look. In the end, everything worked out =)

Just be friendly and open during preview and then you can make friends!

just finished preview, thank god, it is sooooo long you want to leave so badly by the end of day 1. Anyways I got for summer B:

Fos 2001 Man's Food period 3
The 2000 Theatre Appreciation period 4

And for Fall I got
CGS 2531 problem solving using computer software
Eco 2013 Prin of Macroeconomics
Eus 2001 European Experience (That's just for fun though)
Gly 1000 and Exploring Geological Sciences.

Good luck everyone with picking classes, all I can say is don't stress too much because most likely the class you want wont be available.

Just got to my hotel the night before preview.

Crossing fingers that it goes well

I did a bunch of research on classes so I hope my preparation pays off

to victorm:

may be this is a bit late for you but can't Warrington Welcome fulfill the Freshamn experience class for FOS. I think it can because WW is an SLS class but just a special section. Ask to see if this can be possible- I don't think youll want to take two freshman experience courses.

probably too late for your preview date but hopefully youll read it in time.

i just signed up for calc 3, organic chem 2, and thermodynamics for summer b

They only offer thermodynamics for summer C. Plus you can't take it without completing calc 3 first.

Its basically like a "nutrition for dummies" class. Most take it because its an easy A and you can get your bio gen ed credit. All you need to do for the class is buy Smokin Notes before an exam and study. If you are actually a nutrition major then you would start with HUN 2201,
