I am currently taking organic chemistry over the summer so that I can find better research jobs the following year. I am taking the class at a local college but it is most likely that the college I attend will not accept the credit. However, I just found out that medical schools require all coursework to be reported, even if not taken for credit or a grade. I am wondering if the admissions committees will frown upon previewing classes, even if the intention was not to get an easy A when taking the course the following fall semester.

well one option is to try to use the credit (probably won't happen) but then again medical schools don't want people to take orgo over the summer and get it out of the way, especially since my major is biochemistry. however, I also could take the accelerated section of orgo and then a biochem class (can be taken concurrrently taken w/ orgo 1) but I am not sure how much that would make up for it/make it look less bad. I am in a pickle right now. I wish I had read that guide beforehand.

If you think you can take Organic Chemistry over the summer then do it, and don't second guess yourself. I also think that med schools don't really care if you were trying to get ochem out of the way. They just care about what you got on that class.
