Random (stupid) question: When I preview the commonapp there are some sections like the description bar of the ECs where some of the text doesn't show but is hidden under something else. This happens with the EC essay too. Do I need to edit the text or will the adcoms see everything even though I can't in the preview?

Most colleges read your application as you see it in Preview. If stuff is cut off, the best bet is to trim down your answer to fit on the PDF. If you still need more space to expand on your answer, put it in the Additional Information area.

thanks, but I’m slightly worried about the EC essay. Even though I’ve written exactly 150 words a good deal of text is still hidden. Does this mean I have to cut down even furthur?

I previewed my Common App for the first time today and I’m worried too. A lot of things are cut off, even things that you can’t really cut down, like the name of the college my dad attended and his position at work. And the test scores section looks really squished together, and yeah, the EC section is so limited… Maybe I’m just freaking out for no reason. I wasn’t going to submit a separate resume, but now that I see that I have even less room than I thought, i think I have to.
