Does anybody know if having been previously accepted to a school as a rising freshman will improve your chances as a transfer candidate? If anybody happens to know anything specifically about BC or Notre Dame, that's great. But any general information would also be appreciated.

Take a look at this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/688969-previous-acceptance-affects-transfer-admission.html

I think it depends on the college and how desirable a candidate you are.
I know someone who was accepted to Harvard but chose another school. She was unsuccessful when she tried to transfer there after freshman year.

Some schools keep applications from past applicants. One school that I was accepted to in high school said that I could reactivate my application as a transfer. (I never did).

It’s “good” in the sense that you had what they were looking for for freshmen admissions. However, transfer acceptances are often more competitive than they are for freshmen admissions.
