Has anyone gotten into Georgetown with 30 act or 1920 sat who didn't have tons of extracurriculars???

Yes, though they probably were exceptions to the rule (i.e. athletes)

Yeah, most people here generally have well rounded resumes but there are exceptions.

is it true, in your experience, that georgetown defers some extremely qualified applicants because they think that they will have other top schools accept them and will opt out of going to gtown?

I’ve heard of that being true for a couple colleges - where they reject their very top applicants if that person never visited their campus and never really showed any interest - because they think there is no chance of them attending. That doesn’t make any sense, except if the college is obsessed with increasing their yield. Yield no longer has any influence on US News rankings by the way.

However, I very much doubt if Georgetown rejects their top applicants because they don’t think they will attend. I think Georgetown rejects many top applicants simply because there are so many top applicants.
