<p>Conferences are supplementary to primary meetings. So, you will presumably go to class at the scheduled time, and the conference is an extra meeting, usually with a TA, where you go over stuff in more detail, go over homework, etc. Sometimes these are mandatory, sometimes not, depending on the class. It all is included in the same course credit.</p>
