Counselor Rec: Quite good I think.
Hook: Parents went there. I hate this fact.

waves to peter Welcome! And don't be ashamed. You're in. That's what matters :) Join the Yahoo! group or the ezBoard, too.

Stats:
SAT: 1510 - 800 Math, 710 Verbal, ACT: 35 - 36 Math, 36 Reading, 34 English, 35 Science

Other stats: NM Semifinalist, Participant in UMTYMP (aka really accelerated math), so I just finished Calculus 4.
Subjective:
Essays: I loved them a lot. I'd say amazing.
Teacher Recs: Quite good.
Counselor Rec: Horrible. My counselor takes pleasure out of seeing people fail. No joke.
Hook (if any): I had an absolutely amazing interview - she said, quote, "You remind me so much of my best friend - and that's strange, because I didn't think there was another person like her out there." And the alumni coordinator has actually since given me lots of happy praise for it, so I definitely think the interview helped. I've been taking courses at the University of Minnesota for two years. Plus, I'm a girl who likes and is good at math, and definitely wants to be a math major, and that always helps.
Major ECs: Math, Rowing
AB/BSE: AB
Strength/Weakness: Hmm, that's a hard one.
Location/Person:
State or Country: MN
School Type: Large-ish Public

Why do you think you got deferred/admitted: I'd say the combination of a stellar interview, expressed interest and contact with rowing, and a darn good application and stats, if I do say so myself, probably all combined. ;)

my oh my, that ilcapo has the lowest stats of them all....

[weeps in corner]

What are you talking about? Just the rank again? lol.....
