I actually really like princeton. It’s mainly the issue that it’s so hard to get in! I think it’s the only school I might take over MIT or Emory. I think I’d take it over any other school. Too bad my chances of getting in are so slim. :/

What’s the deal with interviews? i submitted my initial app materials (the main common app) and I haven’t heard anything about interviews from Duke, P-ton , or Harvard. i submitted on Dec 1… what;s going on.

btw, @Insomniac

I’m in colorado, too. your name isn’t colin, is it? ;)

Yay, more P-ton hopefuls! It sucks to think that my chances of getting into P-ton are probably less than Yale’s, lol. Ah well.

@ kitkatkatie: Harvard took a few weeks for me to get the interview, so I guess it just depends on the interviewers in the area.

I’m just kind of confused on why Princeton is taking so long for interviews. Has anyone gotten so far? I would think that since they don’t have EA/ED, they would jump right into the RD applicant pool and and contact local interviewers, unlike Duke or someplace. But I guess not

It’s also kind of daunting to think that I won’t be able to revise my P-ton app if I don’t get into Yale since it’s already sent. Which means even if my essays were the cause of deferral or rejection, there’s nothing I can do :(

^ I sent mine in already, albeit with a different essay. My essay for Yale didn’t fit in with the prompts (I tried to find a quote of my own, but to no avail; I figured that I’ll just use another, since I had written it already anyway).

I’m already in. still undecided though, but it’s nice to know that if all else fails, I’ll have princeton as a “backup” It’s weird calling it a “backup” but I guess right now, since I don’t know about other schools, thats what it is!

but i really worried about the offer getting rescinded because of academic performance…I have a B and two A-s and I don’t htink my finals are going to help those…

i applied through questbridge. and princeton was my 2nd choice, but not my first. which is totally okay, but i feel if i just stop trying now, then i won’t have ever realized my FULL potential.

but im really paranoid that im going to get too cocky and let my grades slip and then ill lose admission and then i wont get in to the other non-safety schools i applied to (HYS, MIT) bc i thought i had princeton so i didnt apply to any safeties! ok panicking over

No, my name is not Colin. I’m actually a girl. ;)

@ everyone else

So, all you Yale SCEA’s out there, getting nervous? I’ve had an adrenaline rush all day, and I know tomorrow is going to be even worse. This kid at my school who happens to be like my arch nemesis (and not in a fun competitive way) was rejected from Stanford EA. I’m sort of happy he didn’t get in (he’s really cocky and rude), but it kind of makes me realize yet again how selective this process is. I’m expecting to be deferred, but I guess we’ll see? If I’m rejected, I’ll try to keep hope up for a Princeton acceptance, but we’ll see. I can’t decide which one is my first choice. :p

Where else are you guys applying? I’m doing Princeton, Yale, Berkeley, NYU, Chicago, Hopkins, CU Boulder, and CO School of Mines. I’m already in at Mines, and Boulder is guaranteed for me because of my grades/tests/residency.
