I used my Harvard supplement for this. The only modification I made was to do a quick Google search for a suitable quote, copy and paste the quote onto the essay, and voila! I think this is most likely more common than you think ;)

The title I gave my essay was a Kofi Annan quote anyway. I never realized i accidentally solved my Princeton essay problems while deciding the title. Yaay. :D

Are you guys talking about your quote in your essay? Or are you just writing the quote and then writing an essay that has the theme of the quote but doesn’t directly mention the quote?

^The quote never directly appears in my essay. It’s just at the top of the page. The quote just sums up what I’m trying to convey.

Just finished my supplement.

^^ I didn’t mention the quote directly in my supp but I weaved parts of it throughout.

I asked this in another thread, but in the “a few details” section, asking for your favorite book/movie/website etc, did you guys put descriptions?

I didn’t put descriptions

No. I think the point is to provide a brief insight into your life, not to burden you with short answers.

What’s the 12/15 recommended deadline for, exactly?

[Princeton University | Application Dates & Deadlines](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/deadlines/)

^^ Go to the source.

No, I realize that that’s the recommended deadline for the student portion of the app. I’m just wondering WHY it’s recommended, and what benefit, if any, turning it in by then will have.

i think its so they don’t get a huge influx of applications on january 1st. having the recommended deadline spreads it out a bit since they got if their early decision which helped to do that.

Is there any benefit to the applicant in submitting by Dec. 15th?

Well it’s recommended…so besides making the admissions officers happy
I guess not

well i believe they assign interviews in the order they receive the apps

^ Well in that case I’d rather not submit my app on Dec 15th because I DONT want any more interviews until 2011 :)

How do applicants learn about the decisions? By email on March 30? Thanks.

Hey guys, I’m a student at Princeton and I work for the admissions office. You most definitely SHOULD submit your application BY TODAY. If you look at the statistics, the acceptance rate of students who submit their application by Dec 15th is hovering around 25% while the acceptance rate of students who submit their application AFTER Dec 15th is right around 6-8%. Good luck.

By the way, I’m just ****ing with you.

FINISHED MY APPLICATION. Phew! First college app I’ve done, will do the rest over winter break.

Only thing I might do is retake the SAT IIs in January. But other than that, supplement, common app, payment, other test scores–all submitted. Gonna PARTAYYYYY!
