Princeton 2015 Hopefuls

I don’t think so. There are two schools in NJ that have that type of massive acceptance rates to Princeton. I’m pretty sure he goes to the other one lol.

Or at least I hope so. my school is really competitive, and I actually know quite a bunch that use CC. lol

Lol, I see. I think I’d be totally creeped out if I stumbled across a particular user one day, only to find out that they actually went to my school and/or were in a couple of my classes… o.o Ahhh! I’ve unwittingly revealed WAY too much info about myself on this site (even without posting a chance thread)! :o

Haha, that happened to me once last year. Recognized her from a chance thread. Then she replied to a couple of my threads. Kind of awkward. I don’t think she knew who I was though. Hopefully, haha.

Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. So freaking competitive ahaha.

And I’ve been cautious with revealing my credentials for that very reason lol.

Oh, wow… recognizing people from chance threads… that’s even creepier. I think I’d feel REALLY awkward if I ever posted a chance thread and then had someone from my school come across it (and potentially recognize me – actually, most likely recognize me, because my EC’s are quite unique). That’s also one of the many reasons why I will never post a chance thread for myself! :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve revealed too much personal info anyway (all my posts in the HSL forum under the “Post your random thoughts” thread and others, for example, reveal a lot about what I think of certain things).

What even stranger is that someone’s mom who was apparently browsing CC, recognized another guy from my school’s username from his email. Now that’s that ultimate level of creepiness. Knowing moms like her browsed CC, truly put CC parents in to perspective, because she’s absolutely insane.

And likewise with the chance thread haha.

Parents on CC… shudders I wonder if my own mom secretly lurks on CC? I know she’s been trying to find out more information about colleges, so she may have come across this website too… that’s a really scary thought. o.o

Applying to Princeton  Anyone being recruited for sports? That’s what I am interested in doing. I hope to do something in International Affairs and Religion. Good luck everyone!

I’ll never post a chance thread for various reasons including the ones you guys mentioned.

Lol, I’ve mentioned CC to my parents. But they don’t care enough, lol.

^Although Jersey your 2400 makes you potentially identifiable seeing as you said only 3 people had it. And I know loads of people from the 2 Princeton feeder schools…

…lol jk :p

Scary thought, but my school’s 12 acceptances this year were a bit of an anomaly. We’re usually a tad lower.

None of my school has gone to HYP, at least as far as I know. That being said, I’m an international.
And have crappy, crappy English.

^ Well, MonochromeAddict, if that’s really the case then you’re going to have to find ways to REALLY distinguish yourself at your school. Try to expand your interests and search for opportunities to showcase your talent (e.g. competitions). That said, applying in the first place never hurts :P

The best anyone at my school has done recently is Vanderbilt. I think when we used to be an IB school we had just a few Ivy people.

One of the 3 ivy league schools I’m applying to. Good luck!

Everyone seems to be applying to so many Ivies… I’m just throwing in an app for two (Harvard and Columbia). On that note, I should probably get out of this thread and leave the rest of you Princeton 2015 hopefuls to chat, lol!

^ You seem to have forgotten that this is CC. The number of Ivy applicants on this board certainly does not represent the Class of 2015 as a whole :)

Given the increasing unpredictability and selectivity of admissions at top schools, it is, more than ever, a good idea to apply to lots of schools. It’s a positive feedback system in a lot of ways.

That’s true. But I can’t really picture myself at any of the other Ivies (either that, or their programs in my prospective majors aren’t ideal), and I’d be thrilled to go to Berkeley/UCLA (my match schools).

Ah well. To each his own… :)

Indeed. In your case, there doesn’t seem to be a problem with what you’re doing. Many people, however, would much rather take a “lower-tier” Ivy than their match school. One is more likely, in such cases, to regret applying to too few schools than to too many.

I haven’t visited yet so I don’t know but @silverturtle, more supplements means less time devoted to each one, meaning each app is a bit… worse, I guess. I think it’s better to only apply to a few schools you can see yourself at and make each app exceptional. After all, you only pick ONE school. As long as you have a safety in there that you’re happy to attend, you don’t need 15+ applications.
