Princeton 2018 Wait List

And i agree last year the wait list calls were primarily Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Anyone heard anything?

FWIW: Over at Yale, they closed the waitlist today as – and this is a quote from an email a student received – “Our matriculation rate increased this year, resulting in more ‘yes’ replies than we had expected.”

What is the best way to send a follow up letter to Princeton, mail or email?

harvard is closed today…

yeah columbia closed as well. Its okay we are all going to great schools. whatever happens i wish u all the best of luck

@fiske2009, too true! I completely agree (:
that being said, does anyone have a clue when Princeton goes to the Waitlist?

@fiske2009 Columbia didn’t “close” the way Harvard or Yale did, it just left a very small portion of its WL on an extended wait list, in case of admitted students going to other schools due to admittance off of their wait lists, or for a gap year, etc. They were not overenrolled in the way that Dartmouth was this year.

I am on the waitlist, and I have yet to receive any info about it. Someone said 1141 students are on the waitlist this year?! That’s crazy…I am super discouraged now. That’s such a low chance if we assume that 35 will get off. 3% oh my. Good luck to you all if this is your first choice

did anybody hear yet or got picked up from waitlist?

D just heard that she’s accepted off the waitlist! They called her high school, and they passed on the news. And here’s the part that really amazed us–beyond writing the initial email “Yes, I’d like to stay on the waitlist” (which she tried to make charming, but it was really brief and basic), she hasn’t communicated with them at all. We had completely written it off, and she’s been getting excited about her other (non-Ivy) school. NOW there’s a big decision! yikes.

@wondertime congratulations to your daughter! I don’t normally post on CC but it’s amazing that your daughter got off the waiting list  As a fellow waitlisted candidate, I’ve been trying to hope for the best but prepare for the worst so congrats on your daughter for getting in and for taking a mature attitude towards the waitlist! Just out of interest, what kind of major is your daughter looking to do and what region do you live in?

We’re from the Northeast US–hardly underrepresented! And she wants to do lots and lots of theater–not a major at Princeton, but sooo many opportunities. She’d probably be an English or History major–loves creative writing & history.

@wondertime Will your D accept this admission?

Actually, we’re not sure! She’s gotten sooo excited about the other school, and actually had worked hard at not being attached to Princeton, so now she’s really having to re-think everything. Clearly, it’s a great “problem” to have–we’ll keep CC posted!

Just heard from Princeton and was accepted off of wait list!
Likely major of Economics with certificates in Finance and Applied Math.
From Colorado (don’t know which region that is haha.)

Unlike @wondertime however, I sent in quite a few update letters (I got many more achievements in the recent months.)

@Fotogenik‌ congratulations! What time did you receive the call?

@Fotogenik Could u give me a little idea about whom you sent your update letters to? BTW, how to find the regional admission officer’s contact information?

Just Heard from Princeton that I got off the waitlist! Last night (UK time Wednesday Night) So overseas students are getting notifications now as well.

Got in too! I guess yesterday was the first wave! Good luck everyone and keep hope alive! I’m rooting for you!
