The 2018 thread was made in may last year, so now it's our turn! Who's applying SCEA to Princeton this fall? I'm so excited to apply.

Curious as to why you are applying SCEA, OP. What makes a good candidate for SCEA?

What are your stats?

@goingnutsmom I think the only thing that makes a good candidate for Princeton SCEA is a passion for Princeton and having your application materials completed by October-ish.

@safizee 2330 SAT, 800 Math ii (other sat iis in october and november), I’ll have an intermediate level in six languages, nonprofit founder, and running a business. I’m hoping they see how busy I’ve been lol. What are your stats?

@europeo 2140 SAT (no prep, hoping for 2250 in October but we’ll see), took Bio M last year and got 710 - hoping for higher SAT ii’s in June. EIC of school paper, 4 journalism/communication internships, black belt in karate and a couple other smaller things. 3.8 UW GPA, all A’s in high school except for honors geo, honors algebra 2 trig, chemistry (I know, don’t laugh!) and AP physics B.

What kind of business do you have?? That’s so cool!

and I will not be applying to Princeton SCEA just was curious.

I plan to apply this November as well! I’m really excited, and I hope the admissions committee will see me for who I really am and grant me admission to their university.

I’m definitely applying in November

I’m hoping for the best this November and I’ll put forth my best application effort. All you can do at this point, really.

Probably will apply early action as well

Hey guys even i will be applying to princeton SCEA. I not have greats ECs . I have National level award, National level finalist, patents/researches, will open up a company soon . NGOs, fluent in 4 languages. Know lot about computers. SAT results waiting .I do not have olympiad medal . Is opening up a company plus point?

Found this thread!

Could someone answer this question - do teachers submit a recommendation letter only, or both the letter and some type of evaluation form?

Hi everyone! I most likely will be applying Princeton SCEA (but it’s still a toss-up between Penn ED and Princeton SCEA). I’m mainly waiting for my school to publish the GPA cutoffs for the top 10%, 20%, etcetc. I visited Princeton during the spring break of my freshman year and I fell completely in love with it!

My stats are pretty solid (2390, single sitting, 750+ on four SAT II tests, 3.9+ GPA) and my extracurriculars are quite unique and tailored to my intended major (it’s under humanities), but I’m nervous about my supplements, especially the 650 word one.

Hello all. I too will be applying to Princeton SCEA. Crossing my fingers!

Stat rundown:
SAT: 2240 SATII: Math 2: 750 USH: 730
GPA: 97.8/100max uw
Major: econ
ECS: My major activities show passion for economics, music and politics.

Best of luck to all!

Same boat, @Ambitious19! Not sure if I’m going to apply Penn ED or Princeton SCEA yet, but since my family doesn’t qualify for financial aid, I will probably choose Princeton.

Stats: 35 ACT, 2280 (760/760/760) SAT, 800/760/760 on SAT IIs, 3.95 UW, Valedictorian (1/826)
ECs: Music. And a lot of it. (And then your typical service and honor societies and academic organizations.)

Glad to see this thread! Just curious, how far is everyone on the applications? :)

I finished the first draft of my common app essay and brainstormed for all the Princeton supplements. I also started a bit on questions of other colleges that I’m planning to apply RD.

Hope I’m not too far behind! I definitely planned on doing more but I procrastinated, as usual…

@sr97329 I also finished the first draft of my commonapp essay and finished the Extra curricular short essay. Do people start the essays for the Regular Decision schools this early? I was planning on starting them in October

@HPClee Phew! So it seems like I’m not behind but ahead…good I honestly have no idea where I should be so I just aimed for as much as possible done in the summer.

@sr97329 Haha How long did it take you to write your commonapp draft? It took me 2 days and I’m a little concerned because I’ve read that it took other people weeks

@HPClee It took me over a week if you count brainstorming. The actual writing part took about 2 days!

@sr97329 I see. And are you going to write multiple versions of the commonapp essay?
