AP scores do not need to be sent until you’ve been accepted. Sending them now is a waste of money. You can send in your SAT scores now; if they don’t have a file already, they will set one up once your first piece of info is received.

I see. Thanks @skieurope!

^^ You should self-report your AP grades. I know @skieurope has said that they don’t matter but I don’t agree - especially since top students will all be self-reporting and your scores will be conspicuous by their absence.

@Falcon1 The question was not whether to self-report the AP scores (which I agree that one should), but whether one should send in the official AP scores from the College Board with the application.

@skieurope Okay, it’s good that we’re on the same page about self-reporting. I was basing my comments on another post of yours in a different forum “AP scores have little to no bearing in the admissions process. Sending scores before acceptance is a waste of money.” and I don’t agree that AP scores have little or no bearing on the admissions process. We can leave that discussion for another time, however.

I finally submitted my application! But now what do I do?

I didn’t get an email from Princeton, and IDK how to use that pin number

@HPClee I think you should give the admissions office a day or two to process your app. Then your PIN number should work when you register.

Help!!! I just sent in my SAT scores but I didn’t realize that it usually takes 1-2 weeks for colleges to receive the SAT score report! I thought scores would just be instantly transferred to colleges, but I guess that isn’t how it works :(. Since I sent in my scores today, will I be disadvantaged because the admissions committee won’t have my scores until after the Nov. 1 deadline?? UGH I wasn’t aware that scores need to be sent in early. I finished my SATs last December, so there was absolutely no reason for me to wait until the last minute to send in scores; I just wanted to wait until after I sent in my application to send my scores.

For early applicants, is the “Mid-Year Report” referring to first quarter/trimester grades or first semester grades?

So what if you sent your scores in January, with your last test? Do you have to send it again? My last test was my SAT II’s, in January…and I read somewhere that once you’ve sent it, they should have it, and it’ll automatically join your file…if that’s not true, then I’m so screwed! Cause I just sent my application, but I’ve not sent any scores! Any help or reassurances please? Do I need to resend them?

@LukeBK Once you receive your Application Tracker, you can check whether or not the scores were received by Princeton. If Princeton doesn’t have it in their database, you should probably rush the scores.

@justlyfe8 At least for my school, the Mid-Year report only refers to the first semester grades. But it may depend on how your school’s grading system is structured.

I’m applying SCEA to Princeton!! We’ll see how this goes haha

When I check my app checker, all it says is “The Princeton Admission Office has received all the required pieces of your application. Your application is complete.” It doesnt say anything about whether they received tests and the financial aid thing. Is that normal?

First semester/trimester. That being said, for SCEA, it’s not unheard of for an admissions officer to request a 1st quarter update.

Submitted my app last night. Should I not try to register for the app checker until I get some sort of email directly from Princeton? I tried to register today and it says my email and PIN don’t match, but I literally just checked 5 times and I typed in my email and PIN correctly. The woes of procrastination…

@alliekinz you will get an email from princeton a few days later telling you you can use the appchecker

@skieurope do you know how likely it is that they will ask about my 1st quarter? my grade in AP lit just dropped down to a B unfortunately :((((((((((((

@HPClee I just got the confirmation email, but I can’t register for the App Tracker!!! Will they send a separate email for App Tracker stuff?

@binatang No clue. I would not worry about one B, however.
