@whydoitry You seem very well-qualified! Nice ECs/awards, definitely. As long as your essays and recs are good, I think you have a good shot.

@lb43823 Unfortunately, my school isn’t on the 100 point system. Sorry! However, a 90 is not bad and I wouldn’t worry about it affecting your chances in the RD round.

@Ambitious19 I’ve legit never heard of a school not using a 100-point system for numerical grades, what kind of system does your school use?

@hopefulperson Oh haha sorry for not clarifying! We calculate GPA on a 4.0 scale but calculate individual grades on a 100 point scale. But on our transcript, there are no numerical grades, just letters. I know some schools calculate GPA on a 100 point scale.

The only good thing about my HS is that A-s and As are worth the same in terms of GPA, and 89.5 rounds up to an A. I am the master of the 89.5.

How important are midterm reports for colleges? Say I’m an all A-student for the past 3 years (maybe an A- here and there) but on the midterm report I get all As and a B. Would that hurt a lot?

@Ambitious19 Ah, that makes more sense, lol. Does your school differentiate between A+ and A-, for example? My transcript has my GPA on a 4.0 scale (weighted, thankfully 90-100 = A = 5.0/4.0) as well as my numerical grades in each class out of 100, so I was like “what is going on with her school?”

Wow you guys are lucky, in my school A- is weighted way lower than A. And to get an A you need above a 93 =/

@ScienceDaddy LOL. So theoretically you could get 89.5 in all classes and end up with a 4.0 GPA? How ridiculous…I mean isn’t an 89.5 pretty bad?

@PrincetonPls totally wondering the same thing…don’t wanna screw up now, you know? lol

@lb43823 Yeah me too. I’m like this close but I have this one grade I know is going to be a B. If I get accepted to Princeton won’t have to worry about a mid-year report though so fingers crossed :P

@lb43823 That’s how it is in my school. I’m in IB and usually the classes are hard enough that there is almost nobody that ends with a 4.0, but yes that makes the non-IB and AP classes very very easy to get an A in

SOS! Princeton asked my counselor for my AP scores - should I take this as a good sign? However, what worries me are my scores: 5 AP Calc AB, 4x4 other APs, and ONE THREE IN PHYSICS. I got a 750 on the SAT Physics Subject Test. Thoughts?

Either they do it for everyone, you’re in and they’re trying to gauge if they need to give you credit, or they’re trying to use it in decisions. No matter what, you’ll know Monday! I wouldn’t stress over it though.

Damn, it’s late!! I wish I had looked through this thread earlier.

3 in AP means you’ve passed a college level physics test. Unless your major is related to physics, I don’t think you’d have a problem.

So I am an international applicant from Canada, and I realized that I have not sent in the tax forms. I have NOT recieved an email from the FA office. Bad sign???

@meghadeep, I applied as my intended major in engineering; I sent my SAT II’s as 800 Math II and 750 Physics. I’m taking AP Physics C and I sent my first marking period grades in yesterday (all A’s). Will my AP scores, especially the 3 in physics, make or break admissions?

@Vbdunk I am from Ontario and I didn’t get an email. I called the FA office and they told me to send my tax forms “right away”. That was a week ago.

5 days, guys!!! This isn’t helping my anxiety at all…

@ingoditrust I don’t think one three will decide your admission/non-admission. You’ve done well in other math/sci tests/courses, so they’ll probably take the 3 as a bad day.
