Princeton and Yale better than Stanford?

I think Princeton and Yale offer the best undergraduate educations in America. Stanford and Harvard are more concerned with research. Do you guys think this is true?

for undergrad, i'd take chicago and some lac's like amherst, williams, pomona, swarthmore, and (sort of) dartmouth as the tops in the nation.

At any big school with a graduate school, a lot of focus will be on research. You can get a strong undergraduate education, but you have to be committed and work to be recognized. You can't just lay back and expect professors to get to know you and research opportunities to come out of nowhere.

Everyone has their own opinion on what makes the best undergraduate learning environment. No school is “better” than another in this respect. Some people like Yale while some like Stanford. Personally, I think the best undergraduate programs are those with the best professors and those with the most resources available.
