Princeton App questions

Hey ya.

I'm considering ED at Princeton and I'm currently looking through the App.

Maybe you can help me with some of the following questions:

The Summers thing:
There's no word limit given ? May we attach a second sheet, or is that seen as playing games with the wl. ?

A few details:
Should we write a sentence to the questions or just list up the things ? There's not much space though...

Your voice:
The second task gives us the oportunity to use our own favourite quotation. Where should we indicate...
a) that we are using a different quotation but chose this task.
b) which quotation we use.

Engineering essay:
Well I don't really consider applying for BSE. It wouldn't make sense as German citizen to study engineering in the US. Though I could write a lot about it (as I consider it to be an option if I study in G.). Would it be an advantage to write an essay ?

Mid-year-report:
Just that I don't get it wrong. We have to attend 13 years of school. Thus, the mid-year is meant to be mid-13 for me instead of mid-12 as indicated on the sheet.

Anyway - do I need to submit this form if I am admitted ED ?

And 2 more general questions:
Does the Princeton admission staff prefer the Princeton App or the Common App + Princeton Suppl. ?

SAT IIs: I am taking the SAT IIs in November. Should I leave the fields blank ? And in general: What happens to SATs, I send to a college where my application is not submitted yet ? Do they "store" them ?

I know some of these questions might be stupid - just don't want to make a mistake.

bump anyone pleeeaaase?

I"ll try to help a bit. My son typed his quote in italics at the start of his essay, then went on to write the essay explaing his favorite quote.
As for the short answers, he just put down one to three work type answers. No capitalization or puctuation.
They didn't hate it as he's matriculating in a few weeks.
Good luck.

For the summer activity essay, only bother to attach something if you did something so unique that you can't do justice to it in the given space. Don't ramble. All limits and guidelines can be broken, but only if you have a good reason to do so.

For the few details, probably just do a list, or at most a laconic sentence. There was a thread about this on the Pton 2010 board awhile ago.

That you're using a different quotation should be obvious enough: adcoms aren't stupid. Work the quote in naturally into your essay, probably near the beginning.

If you're checking off A.B. and not B.S.E, then you shouldn't write the engineering essay!

You're right about the midyear. In the US most students get grades twice a year. I don't think it's necessary to submit if you did ED, but in any case it doesn't much matter as you'll have gotten your decision by the time it's due.

There is no preference as to which app you use.

I think there's a place on the app to list future SATII test dates. And yes, if you send a score report they'll store it until they get your full applicaiotn.
