Princeton application requiermentes (class of 2020)

Hello! I’ve just started my Princeton application for Regular and I’ve stumbled upon this essay :

If you are interested in pursuing a B.S.E. (Bachelor of Science in Engineering) degree, please write a 300-500 word essay describing why you are interested in studying engineering, any experiences in or exposure to engineering you have had, and how you think the programs in engineering offered at Princeton suit your particular interests.

Since I’m applying on computer science and I’ve done mostly software and coding in high school I am a little confused. What is considered to be an exposure to engineering? Does buying PC components and building my own computer counts?

Don’t try to overthink meaning. The terms are broad and could include anything that might relate to engineering, including your code work and assembling a PC. In other words if you think it is positive information that heps show your interest in engineering, you can mention it.
