Hello All! Advice from me, a Princeton student…
SCEA decisions are set to come out tomorrow, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you all of a really exciting opportunity at Princeton.
Before that though, I want to wish everyone the best of luck! Whether or not you get the decision you hope for tomorrow, you really are amazing. Everything will work out just fine for you. I swear. And I know that’s true because you’re obviously all go-getters. Why else would you be applying to Princeton SCEA?!
This time last year, Princeton wasn’t even my top choice. I had applied to Yale SCEA and was flat-out rejected. Crushing. But thank God and all higher powers for that result. Because I without it, I wouldn’t have even submitted my Princeton application (yeahhh, I didn’t finish until like the night before it was due), nor would I have discovered the incredible opportunity called Bridge Year!
For those of you who are accepted tomorrow, keep the Bridge Year Program in mind. Once you commit to going to Princeton, you can apply for Bridge Year, which essentially is a gap year program sponsored by the school. You apply to spend the year doing service learning in one of 5 developing countries (Bolivia, Brazil, China, India or Senegal) with 7other remarkably amazingly talented future Princeton students. One of the greatest parts is that it’s expense free!
Currently, I write this from my internship in Dakar, Senegal. I’m excited to be a member of the Class of 2020, but I’m even prouder to be a Bridge Year Participant in my cohort.
Check out the program’s website at https://www.princeton.edu/bridgeyear/ if you’re interested, or reach out to me if you have any questions.
Again, BEST OF LUCK!
