I will be applying to Princeton (top choice), Brown, UPenn, Cornell, Harvard, Boston U, and Rutgers. I'm hoping to major in ecology/evolutionary biology.

any opinions?

Pretty good chances at Princeton; better than most, but not exceptional. Your SAT could be higher, but looks not bad.

Princeton (top choice) - slim chance
Brown - decent chance
UPenn - decent chance
Cornell - good chance
Harvard - slim chance
Boston U-in
Rutgers-in

No offense, but your ECs seem pretty generic (although your Chinese activities are pretty unique :)). What's your passion? Will it shine through in your actual application and essays?

If so, I think you've got a decent chance, especially if you raise those SATs.

Good luck!

you don't happen to go to bwater-raritan, do you?

ajkcorner1: My main focus and interest is environmental preservation/conservation and I honestly think it will show through in my essays. In addition to all the stuff I do for my school environmental club, the Girl Scout camp I work at over the summer is really nature oriented. I can also write about the things I've done within my family to conserve (started my family composting, planting own vegetables in summer, etc.). I also applied for the NJ Governor's School of the Environment for this summer but since I don't know whether I'm accepted yet I didn't write it.

I'm also really interested in studying Chinese and I may end up writing an essay about my involvement in my school's small but growing Chinese program as well. Although Chinese isn't that unique of an activity, I think it will stand out for me since I'm not Asian and it's generally perceived to be a very challenging subject.

Tofu: Haha, yep, bwater all the way.
