Princeton Chances From KY High School

I was just wondering what you think my chances of getting in to Princeton are.

I'm from a relatively small town in Southeastern Kentucky. I have taken just about every class AP or honors. My unweighted GPA is a 3.97 with a strong upward trend and my weighted is around a 4.24. (My only B was in Algebra 1 in 8th grade, but since it was a high school level class it is stuck on my transcript.) My high school is by no means the best around, but I feel as if I gained an exceptional education. Top 5% of my class. 4 Bio, 5 Euro, 5 English 3, 5 APES, 5 Chem.

Sooooo, what do you think my chances are of getting in to Princeton?

I think your chances are good.

I think my greatest strength is my extensive involvement in the music and performing arts of my school. It helps set me apart from the crowd.

Princeton is an extremely competitive school to get into. You are a perfect candidate, but there are so many perfect candidates that apply to that school. You are extremely competitive and qualified to get in, but so is pretty much every other student that applies. I definitely think that you should apply, but make sure that you get really great teacher recommendations and write a great essay. If you do that, then your chance is as good as every other highly qualified student that is applying: 8.5% (Princeton’s acceptance rate). I don’t want to seem discouraging because I could definitely see you getting into Princeton because you are highly qualified, but it is an Ivy League school which means that everyone who applies is highly qualified. Good luck!

Hard to say. Your application is good, but we are talking about Princeton. I would say maybe 35% of getting accepted (which is pretty good).
