Hey Everyone This is My First post!
Anyways, I have been on cc many times but typically just observing other discussions. So Now what are my chances..
Im not gonna give you a long list of EC's and all cause they are pretty standard and there's no use in trying to stand out here :)

Applying to:
Princeton
Harvard
Yale
Berkely
Georgetown

So
My GPA: is 5.0 weighted and 4.0 unweited (All-Ap's) But I mean it really isnt that difficult, at my public school i might add, but no one else is taking all ap's even though I'm sure they could get all A's since there are some very intelligent people.

My SAT: M800 V800 W800 (haha well ya i would say this is my strong point, i guess like some 1054 people got it on my October sat so im not that special. Ohh ya and I might have had an SAT instructer for 2 hours a week every other week for hmm no more than 2 years, haha Im not smart so i needed one ;) (He was a friend of the family who got near perfect so it was free by the way)

EC/Awards: I mean I dont really feel like listing lots, i dont have that many either but most important ones I would say would be:
National Merit Scholar (Finalist)
All those National Honor rolls and stuff so ya
President/Founder of the haha, Maybe a cliche & unoriginal: Team America
President of CSF
Treasurer of key Club
Finally, 1,000 hours i turned in of comunity service but it was easy and rewarding, i voluntered as a camp counselor at local summer camp i used to go to in my young years. I did like 5 hours a day 3 days a week over 3 summers so it was cool.

Anyways Guys The sole reason I'm asking the people of cc this is to inform me what you think my chances are because I feel that my first choice Princeton, might just reject me because I have a perfect sat/Gpa, as they have before with some students to I dunno prove a point that no one is guranteed. Plus, I feel Princeton might not feel so bad cause they figure I will get into some other good school. Anyways, Please inform me on what you guys feel about my situation if you have time! Although, Im just gonna Apply to Princeton, Harvard, Yale and Berkely (im from CA) and hope for the best :) Thats all you can do right!
Thanks Guys for reading, i tried not to make it just another list :)

I'm sure you can write some damn good essays that could easily assure your acceptance to many of those schools. The problem with you is that you just look like a person with the best statistics possible, but like most people, don't really stand out. This is what happens to a lot of other people with perfect statistics that apply to schools like Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. Their essay seems to be generic and perfect, but really isn't anything that stands out and they don't get accepted. Word gets around that Harvard didn't accept the perfect student when in fact that person might just have been a genius, but with no stand-out feature. All that you have to do now is write some essays that make you stand out as a person because right now, your application doesn't stand out besides your academic aptitude. With an essay that'll make you different and focus on what you offer, you should really be the perfect applicant (with some mediocre EC's).

p.s. Oh, and take your SAT II's. And I'm guessing that you are ranked #1 in your class. So, just stand out. You don't seem to play an instrument or do anything very unique, so your essay must compensate for that. Maybe you are unique, anything else you haven't posted? Anyway, I am just trying to help you. That is why I am typing so much. I think you'd have a great shot. So...work on those essays and stop by some of those other forums to awe some other CC'ers.

Princeton- Stand Out And You'll Have A Wonderful Shot
Harvard- Stand Out And You'll Have A Wonderful Shot
Yale- Stand Out And You'll Have A Wonderful Shot
Berkely- Accepted
Georgetown- Accepted

haha Okay Thanks for all these comments so far, now let me answer your questions!

G0ldenboy, It just so happens Music is my thing! I have played Guitar for 8 years and seems like forever I LOVE IT!, Drums for 8, bass for 6, and piano for 4 years now. I guess to sum it up I love all music instruments and have won various minor awards and have been in several bands with friends such through the years. I have been taking lessons at a local music school thingy for 8 years now to learn how to play these instruments and understand music theory and such so its all good. And Ya im #1 but that doesn't really matter considering I am just taking more Ap's then everyone else. I mean like I said there are some really smart individuals that I'm sure could yield similar results ...

As For Cryst4lx3, I realize I probably shouldnt have wrote I was just thinking in the future when i apply.... but i got a 240 on the psat as well.... so Hopefully ill qualify and become a finalist

Finally Habdragon, haha this one was funny. Actually as you might have noticed my name... I am a full Danish White boy in San Diego lol So no Im not Asian lol!

I must say impressive, but unfortunately I don't see any whale saving. Everyone knows that to get into Princeton you have to save at least 20 whales (or 2 native Americans) - it's more or less standard and without it you... don't really stand a chance... Sorry

HYPS has a pretty good record of waitlisting applicants with perfect stats. You MIGHT get in, but you very well might not. I personally know two 1600 4.0 valedictorians who didn't get into any of these.

There is a huge gap between HYPS and your next two schools (UCB and Gtown), why not add a couple reaches right after HYPS like Duke, Dartmouth, Amherst, Penn, etc. These are basically slight reach/ matches for you. UCB is pretty much a safety, and Gtown is a safe match. The difference between a place like Princeton and a place like Duke is less than the difference between Duke and Georgetown in many ways.

XD!!

LOL!

To the topic creator: Wow, 5.0. I never even heard of that.

I'm sure you'll get into Princeton and your other colleges if your essay and letters of rec are as good as your GPA and SATs.

How good are your AP and SAT Subject Tests?

Let Princeton know that you want them, trhat you REALLY want them. Since you stand a shot of getting accepted at any school in the country, but you want Princeton, make sure they know that.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the comments, so far and to answer some questions:

To Ali G- haha whale saving thats funny, I should try that, Im only a few minutes from the ocean, although I dont believe any Whales are near :)

To Slipper- I definetly get your point about applying to a few more colleges, so maybe Cornell, Duke, and Dartmouth etc... But I just really wana go to Princeton so....

To Flippy, I havent taken my Subject test considering I am still a Junior and plan on taking them in June or so... As For Ap's
Ap Computer Sci 5
AP European History: 5
Ap Art Studio: 5
Ap: Chem 5
Ap: Calc AB 5
Ap: Spanish 4
Those are my sophmore Ap's and Gosh I know a 4 in Spanish... I hate Spanish!!!
Then this Year...
Ap Us History
Ap Psychology

Ap Art History
Ap Bio
Anyways Ya so I dunno what I will get yet but this year is definetly easier for me than last year...

Finally, To Catherine, I will for sure Let Princeton Know that Princeton is my #1 Choice but I dont think I will apply Early Decision just in case anything changes...

haha Sr6622, I guess so I don't really care as long as I never have to do spanish Again!!! It's not that bad (haha maybe it is) but I prefer English lol

To J567p, Like I said to Cryst4lx3, I shouldn't Have stated I was a National Merit Finalist but I did get a 240 on the PSAT and hope that I qualify for National Merit Finalist but Who knows....

wow, amazing stats, just incredible. Congratulations and I hope to god your hard work is rewarded. Plus you're not asian which makes it all the more interesting. (sorry, no one should take offense to that, just using a general stereotype especially on CC).
