SCHOOLS I WANT TO APPLY TO (in order)
1.Pomona
2.Princeton
3.Stanford
4.Claremont Mckenna
5.Whitman
6.UO Honors College

My top 4 are all very close together in terms of how much I want to go there. I love Princeton and Pomona, but I like Pomona a little more because it's a bit more realistic and on the West Coast, and I could run for them. Stanford and Claremont are both amazing, but Stanford has a little more prestige and a better location, but i could run XC at Claremont..

Should I apply ED/EA anywhere?

Hey Skyhawkk08. I'm a current Pton freshman. I normally don't like to post on chances threads. Honestly, I don't believe that it's possible, to predict anyone's chances with any significant degree of accuracy. Even if you are qualified enough, chances are, unless you distinguish yourself in your application by writing a truly memorable and compelling essay, and have a successful interview (and glowing rec. letters from teachers/counselors); your great stats just won't cut it. Just keep working hard this year. You have the entirety of junior year and the beginning of senior year to work on and improve your stats. Applying RD allows you to further embellish your stats (and you won't have a choice anyhow since they're doing away with ED). A quick word about RD: the admission cycle is harsh! I applied RD to Pton last year. The RD acceptance rate was a mere 7.8%! I can only see it getting MUCH HARSHER by the time you apply. Another tip for you to keep in mind is to foster good friendships with your recommendation writers. Otherwise, you can start getting to know new teachers better. The key is not to feel so accomplished that you don't keep working to improve yourself. I hope my few tips will go a long way with you. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any more questions, PM me anytime.
