Also I forgot to add cyber club which I have participated in Freshman year and will participate in next year again.

Also I will be applying for Questbridge and I think I have a fair shot at becoming a finalist due to the hardships that I have endured and my family income.

Good luck with Questbridge! I'm all for people applying through Questbridge because it gives you a chance to work on an extensive app (regular college apps will be a breeze after your experience with Questbridge) and is also a great way to mark your application as one adcomms will want to pay attention to.

If you're a minority student, also apply for the Gates Millennium Scholarship. I can't begin to tell you how this scholarship has made life immensely easy for me.

As far as admissions goes, consider this, adcomms are not looking for well-rounded students. They're looking for pointy students (passionate and good in a certain aspect) that when put together, make up a well-rounded class. Make sure you're doing things you're passionate about that will come across in your essays.

Yeah hard luck stories alone are probably more of a negative factor than a positive one on your app unless you make something genuine out of it...nobody likes a whiner.

Don't get too caught up in chances. To be honest, nobody can say anything for the majority of applicants besides you have a decent shot. Beyond that it depends on a multitude of factors you can't gauge on a discussion forum.
