Thanks. Yes, her deadline to reply was Monday the 15th. I don’t recall the time on that day.
My daughter was accepted off the waitlist and forgot that she was even on it - no follow up letters, additional materials submitted, etc. She just got a call out of the blue.
@njfisherman - what state do you live in?
I’m not going to lie, this process has been exceedingly frustrating for me. Best wishes to those who were accepted; but man, to come so close but so far is heart breaking.
Congrats to everyone who were accepted from the waitlist! I was wondering whether Princeton sent any rejections to some of those who accepted the waitlist, like Uchicago and Harvard did yesterday. Did anyone hear an international students getting off the waitlist?
@pusteblume1 , schools will notify everyone on the WL when it is closed, meaning the class is completely full and WL activity has ended. Some schools are in that position earlier than others. Some may not do that until the end of June! None that I know of identity students to "reject " before then although the majority of WL students will not get an offer of admission.
To all that made it this far - congrats and you will do well wherever you end up. I know it can be heart breaking to come so close, but will eventually fade when you start at another fantastic place (Hey - wait list isn’t closed yet, so have faith - My kid is in same boat). @all still waiting - do you have good backups? what are they? Be excited about those and post, don’t worry about and maybe you just may get a pleasant surprise when not expecting it.
NJ, 5 miles from campus.
@njfisherman what school does your daughter go to? I’m from the same area
Does anyone know how badly my grades would have to dip for Princeton to release me from the waitlist? They called my counselor like last Thursday for updates, and I was just wondering what to expect now. She did mention to them that I should be getting a grade change for that one class
@langnerd Since 98% of students don’t get off the waitlist anyways, I doubt they would release anybody preemptively (they would just not let you off).
so if the deadline to accept or decline is the 15th of May, does that mean that Wave 2 for the number of declines will likely start to get called early next week? Assume many have accepted but for the 10-15 that did not? Not sure how many will decline…
@proudpapa1 Yes, they usually release by week, so expect calls to go out on Monday. I think it is more like 5-10 that do not accept.
We made the news, people!
Quick question to anyone who knows. If I were to accept my offer of admission at Princeton. Do I decline my offer to the college I am committed to first?
Anyone from California get off the waitlist yet?
@eliza17, wait until Princeton has your deposit and confirms your enrollment before you decline just so that you don’t end up the victim of some terrible administrative glitch.
Princeton doesn’t take deposits.
does anyone know if there have been any international calls yet?
