Pretty confident it will be between 12/12 and 12/16.
Penn just got their ED Date it’s this Friday the 9th

I’m applying RD though
What did you guys write about in your Princeton supplemental essay?
I am pretty sure it will be between 12/12 and 12/16.
@supercilious I chose the culture one, talking about coming to terms with the fact that many creators of African American art and music would probably hate that I try to appreciate their output. Then transitioned into discussion of how art that if is not universal, but meant to be enjoyed by only a small, specific group, it is largely an unneeded field of study. Yourself?
My words got jumbled in their, oops.

Do you guys think that the orange tiger of last year will appear in this years acceptance letters?
I also do not understand why Princeton is so secretive about their decision notification date.
@oplurobha I hope the first thing you see when you finally get out of the que is the orange Tiger:) My daughter was driving home from school at 3 last year on decision day and her friend was manning her phone for that torturous 10 minute wait-and the first thing she saw was the Tiger!!! I hope you all see it ~:>
We are officially the only Ivy still in the dark about the decision date!
Honestly though, seeing people freak out on the UPenn/Cornell threads since their dates were confirmed makes me somewhat happy that we haven’t received ours yet-- I’d like to keep my sanity for as long as possible, please
@croller I wrote about editing literary magazines/writing as a means of social advocacy.
How much clout do you guys think our Common App essay has in the admissions process? I’m not getting myself worked up about really any of this, just curious.
I’m guessing that a strong essay can really help distinguish/set apart applicants with the requisite scores+course rigor, but it’s prolly not going to save a weak application.
Princeton can’t really announce a date until they know they will have all decisions ready. Could be a sign they got significantly more EA apps than before. This is just all speculation though a somewhat educated speculation.
I think @Dolemite is correct. Last year the decision date was delayed due to a large increase in applications. A year ago I met someone who worked in admissions and they were working the longest, craziest hours just to stay afloat.
Looking at this thread makes me wonder why I even applied oh my gosh I guess I can only hope for a deferral in a week or so. Does this mean results could come out as late as the 19th?
@Dolemite I think that you are correct, especially considering that my arts supplement was viewed at 9:30 PM last Saturday night. If you’re working on a Saturday night, you know you’re behind!
I don’t think it would be 12/12 as Princeton says they will send out an email a week early for the date. so it should be 12/13 to 12/16
Anyway, just relax and wait for next week
