Princeton Class or 2021 EA / RD Application thread

Sent in my art portfolio on Sunday. :open_mouth: Any other music majors out there?

Also, did anyone upload a resume/extra rec with your art supplement?

does anyone know at what point they actually start looking at applications. like are they still organizing for completion at this point?

Logically speaking, I would think there are already some applications in the reject/defer pile. They have a month and a half going through 3,000 applicants with multiple rounds (MIT has 5 rounds) of decision-making. The first round should be completed by now, if not, really soon. Isnā€™t that just scary?

@IvyKid1 my D submitted her piano pieces on the 6th. She also uploaded a music resume including repertoires she has studied and awards have won.

Just had my interview yesterday! Went exceptionally well. To anyone who is nervous about their interview, just be honest and let your interviewer see what type of student and person you are. Best of luck everyone!

@IvyKid1 Not quite music, but I submitted a theatre supplement. One monologue from this yearā€™s fall play, one from Shakespeare, and a musical theatre medley of sorts

I had already included my artistic resume on the Princeton supplement, so I didnā€™t feel the need to re-upload the same documentā€¦

So nervous for my interview!!

@gmanhax Same. I included all my music awards in the additional info section of Common App, so I found it unnecessary to upload a resume.

My music professor was my optional rec on Common App, so I didnā€™t upload an extra rec to the arts portfolio, either.

Had my interview today. Went well I thought. The dude said heā€™d send the report in but was skeptically of how much weight it actually carried in the decision.

Yeah, just got my interview email today. Pumped for that  @icarus29 whatā€™s your nationality? Iā€™m an Indian applying from Egypt

No news of an interview for me :/. Although Iā€™m a little glad, because the interview doesnā€™t really make a difference so it would only make me unnecessarily stressed out. Of course, I also wanted to learn more about the school and get the opportunity to show my personality (represent myself as more than a few numbers). Oh well.

Does every EA applicant gets to interview with Princeton alumni? If you are not contacted for an interview, is it safe to assume you are in the ā€œrejectionā€ pile?

Hey fellow art supplement friends, did you guys get an email confirmation after you submitted yours? I didnā€™t but I think it said I would so just wondering.

OHtoCollege I think they just canā€™t set up interviews for everyone, so if you donā€™t get an interview it wonā€™t negatively impact your decision. Also, Iā€™m pretty confident interview scheduling is completely independent of admission chances.

@Knawledge4Cawllege I got one a couple min after I submitted.

@OHToCollege -I just copied my reply to an earlier post regarding interviews-donā€™t worry about them. Hereā€™s my post

I wouldnā€™t worry about the interview too much. My daughter is in the class of 2020 (SCEA) and she wasnā€™t contacted for an interview until the week before decisions came out and had a Skype interview the Sunday before (Interview on the 13th and decisions were released on the 16th) Iā€™m pretty sure the decision was made before then

@Knawledge4Cawllege I would email themā€¦ I got a confirmation email immediately.

Does anyone know how many rounds of viewing does the adcom do for EA? Iā€™m getting jittery already, and thereā€™s still a month left :0

Still no interview ugh

@deeeznuts Do you happen to be an international student or from a small town? I havenā€™t received an interview email yet either! Apparently interviews have little correlation with decisions, so on the bright side itā€™s one less thing to stress aboutā€¦

@icarus29 Who is to know? And even if you DID know, what would it benefit you? Really ā€“ youā€™ve got to get this outta your head for the next 4-5 weeks. Youā€™ve got plenty of useful things to do, Iā€™m sure.

Go have some fun. You deserve it.
