Princeton Class or 2021 EA / RD Application thread

@boundless No, but my school-area has never sent anyone to Princeton or any ivy for that matter, so I guess lack of alumni?? That being said, there’s a really rich area like 10 miles away sooooooo

Also haven’t been contacted for an interview yet. And I would assume that they are almost done with the second round of viewing.

Just got an interview offer…45 minutes, and he said he would write a report afterwards so I’m obviously super nervous :/. Do you recommend I research Princeton just in case he asks me some questions about it? Should I bring a resume with me to the interview? Anything else to bring? And just study the typical interview questions like what’s my favorite book (or for that case, the ‘interests’ section from the common app)? Are there any helpful links about interview tips? Freaking out :frowning:

hi guys! im planning to apply to Princeton RD and was just wondering, did any of you submit anything for the optional additional information? i was planning to submit a supplement i wrote for another school that says a lot about my personality, but it seems that people usually submit really extraordinary things like their research papers or things like that.

@kbn2015 Don’t do that.

@dartagnaneb okay, thanks for the advice! i wasn’t sure what was allowed for that section lol

@JuicyMango You don’t need to research PTon other than being prepared to say why you chose to apply there EA. A resume isn’t necessary – if you already have one, you can bring it in the folder and offer it to the interviewer at the conclusion. He/She may or may not accept it – but it’s no big deal either way. Don’t go and make a resume now if one doesn’t already exist.

@deeznuts The existence of alumni from your HS is irrelevant. Ten miles is nothing. Plus, I’m 99% sure Princeton now can conduct virtual interviews, too. Be patient. Good luck.

My SAT scores were sent in 2 weeks ago, but the application status is still “awaiting” - is this normal?

@slvd09 don’t worry. I sent my SAT scores on the 31st of October, CB said it sent 'em on the 8th of November, and the pton application status only updated to “received” on the 10th.
Check CB if the scores have been sent though

@samc24 oh okay, thank you for that! I had mine sent on October 20, then CB says it was sent on the 28th.

Anyone know when we get our decisions this year? I think it was December 16th in 2015

@MCurie I think December 15th but I’m not entirely sure. Definitely somewhere around that time though.

@T26E4 OK thank you! I have a resume so I’ll bring it in a folder. Am I allowed to ask questions about the school during the interview?

@JuicyMango One of the purposes of the Interview is to get to know the school better so you should ask question regarding the school but not personal questions about what the Interviewer does outside the scope of Princeton. Of course my D’s interviewer graduated in the 50s so not sure how well he can talk about relevant student life to my D

I had my interview today and it was ridiculously good! I’m so happy (even if the interview doesn’t count for much)!

@icarus29 ahhh congrats that’s wonderful! What was it like?

I just got a notification for an alumni interview today, but it’s a phone interview. Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for a phone interview?

How do you guys feel about a GroupMe chat? I’ve seen that some applicant pools for selective schools in years past have made them to help each other stay calm, just chat, etc. Let me know if you’re interested.

@NotIvyYet That sounds like a great idea! PM me with deets!

Also RIP me just found a typo in my Engineering Essay :frowning:

@NotIvyYet that sounds great. Be sure to add me as well!
