So, to make a long story short I thought I had a shot with Stanford and put off all my college essays until I heard back from them. Stanford decided to reject my early decision application, so now I'm racing to finish my essays for all my other schools over winter break. I've got what I think are some great essays about CMU and Cornell, because I visited Cornell and I know a lot about the Alice program from CMU. However, I have no idea what to write for my Princeton essay. Quite frankly, my mom is making me apply there. It's not that I don't want to go, because Princeton has a great Computer Science program (I want to major in Computer Science), it's just that I don't have anything to write for this part of the prompt:

"how you think the programs in engineering offered at Princeton suit your particular interests."

Can someone help me by giving advice on what the programs in engineering are like a Princeton, like specifics that I could use?

To cheddarcheese: well duh it was a bad idea! Now I have to spend winter break writing essays! But not hate here, it’s Christmastime :)

Anyways randombetch, I don’t really have a choice in applying. I’m planning on saving the whole f*** off thing if she actually makes me go there as opposed to another college I want to go to. Applying is different from going. And yes, I did look at the computer science department website, but it didn’t really help me out. I was hoping for something a little more specific?

In that case, this entire thread should not exist. You should not spend any time on the essay in a conscious effort to get rejected, and that way your mother won’t even be able to force you to go to Princeton.

An early rejection from Stanford isn’t necessarily promising, either.

I suggest you deliberately sabotage the essay if you really don’t want to attend. But first, I would try to understand why you don’t want to come to Princeton, because honestly I can’t think of any reason at all that a COS major would not want to come here.

The truth is, Princeton’s a fantastic school. I just don’t know exactly what I want in a school, and I can’t know if a school’s programs fit my particular interests if I don’t even know what their programs are like. I like a ton of different things, and I think I could fit in just as well with Princeton’s theory and math based department as with one more research based.

I’m really not trying to degrade Princeton at all, and I’m not trying to be rude. I just need help with my essays, because I made a bad decision and put them off until the last minute.
