We are looking at princeton closely as they offer superb need based aid, daughter wants to apply CS, could someone shed light on cs department, how is the summer internship placement, job placement etc thanks
I can’t tell you anything about the computer science department in particular but as far as internships and job placement in general, Princeton students are afforded amazing opportunities. Freshman year my son asked a professor for advice finding an academic internship in our somewhat obscure state and within 10 minutes the professor arranged an opportunity with an expert in his field at our state flagship.
As far as job placement, DS was relatively unprepared for the job market, as all of his summer internships had been academically focused in anticipation of grad school. But when he decided to test the job market, he received multiple job offers in the fall of his senior year, including Wall Street and consulting positions.
Thanks a lot!
Here’s an excellent review on Princeton’s CS department. Princeton students are well regarded by the tech companies and are recruited in the fall for summer internships and job placements.
Thanks @slushy @sherpa How many girls are enrolled in CS department. I have come to know that the department has hired a lot of new teaching staff. How is AI scenario as compare to Stanford?
Recruitment is weak so you need to stand on your own. I’d choose MIT for CS.
