SATs/ SAT II Subject Tests

Middle 50 percent of Verbal SAT, Mathematics SAT, and three highest SAT II Subject Tests.
For example, 25 percent of the applicants had Verbal scores below 650; 50 percent had Verbal scores
between 650 and 760; 25 percent had Verbal scores above 760.

Applicants Admits Enrollees

Verbal (highest) 650-760 700-790 690-780
Math (highest) 670-780 700-800 700-790
SAT II Subject Tests 650-750 700-780 690-770

cool...verbal in upper range, math in upper range, sat II's in upper range...

Let's see, I fall into the admits upper range for all except SAT 1 math, which I got a 700 on. I'm so bad at math.........

:( verbal is in bottom 25% of acceptees... 690...

is it true that the ones with bottom 25% scores must have special hooks such as athlete, legacy, URM?

they probably dont HAVE to have special hooks i mean, if u got an 800 math its a 1490 and thats still a decent score

those that probably most likely should have a special hook are those in the bottom 25% of the composite SAT score. under the 1400 or watever

man i have a 1490. 750V 740M, i think that's one of the worst scores to have IF you're aiming for a 1500. Man was i mad. but, i realize its a good score so don't flame me...... flamer.

I'm in the same boat, Princetonwannabe, except with flipped scores. The big split irritates me because it knocks my math down below the bottom 25% level. If I'd have an even 740/740, I'd feel a lot better in some ways.

Hmm...Princeton has high avg SAT I and GPA for admits...but the SAT II is kind of low...

Edit: haha whoops I read the graph wrong. nevermind!

c_j , same here.. 690 800. 110 points? ouch..

Well, to cheer your self up, think of it this way: The average SAT I score for Early Decision last year was a 1460. You're 30 points above that.

that just made my day =)

woah where did you get that stat

its on the princeton website

I don't have the link handy, sorry. It's in the article of the official early decision announcement released last January, which summed up the early decision process for 2003. I read the article numerous times, so I am positive the average SAT I was a 730 Verbal and Math, respectively.

ha-HA...found it

h ttp://www.princeton.edu/pr/news/04/q1/0106-admission.htm

"ain't" ain't a word, and i ain't gonna use it again

(sorry, im feeling random today)

sigh after weeks of bitchin about sat scores and ECs and blah blah we are back to almost talking about "chances" and stuff.... GUYS! gimme a break...

hobbes thats my exact breakup too!! 1490 sucks. what i'd do for those 10!!

No measurement is perfect even in the exact sciences. Your SAT score is no different and collegeboard recommend using a +/- 30 range.

So your score is probably between 1460 to 1520

when do you leave for del?
