I had my interview today! I was nervous at first, but it was pretty much just an informal conversation, and I was able to loosen up. So relax everyone; the interviews are not as bad as you think. Just make sure to ask questions and give engaging responses
The alum interviewers do not see your application so you should definitely bring a resume with you to your interview. If you didnāt, donāt worry, it will be OK.
Youāre right, @Tash561 . I just said to not bring a resume because I didnāt bring one and my interviewer didnāt even ask for it. However, it varies from interviewer to interviewer, so just bring your resume to be safe.
I had my interview a few weeks ago and it honestly was the most chill interview Iāve ever had. My interviewer kind of steered the questions so that I would not speak about ECs and stuff that was already in my application, and she made a big emphasis on wanting to learn about me as a person. One of the questions was literally: whatās your dream vacation? And also: what do you like doing in your spare time thatās not school-related/ECs?
She was honestly super nice and made me feel really comfortable during the interview, and while we did dive into the topic about my career path/Princeton, it was just a super fun/chill talk. She was also an international student applying to the US, so she was really informative about what itās like moving to the US and going to a school like Princeton as an international student.
Good luck to everyone on your interview!
Hello! A quick questionā¦ my SAT is on the lower side (770 M, 700 R; dumb August curve ughhh) but my other stats are high compared to others. Do you think this would look bad amongst the other applicants? Will Princeton take into account that my SAT was disadvantaged by the August curve? I feel since there are such little people that get accepted with my SAT score that Iāve honestly lost hopeā¦ :(. Any advice?
@riazuluaga14 @thatpianogirl @Tash561
Where are you guys applying in the regular round?
@maddy09 I already applied under SCEA. Are you applying under regular decision? If so, good luck!
@tsunderegg I think that as long as you have a good GPA/high grades in your classes, your lower SAT wonāt put you at a disadvantage. I think that the AO are more focused on looking at the rigor of your high school career instead of a one-time snapshot that your test scores provide.
Does anyone know when SCEA decisions will be released? I heard it was a Wednesday the past three years, so is it possible that itās on Wednesday, December 11th?
Based on previous yearās decisions release, Iām pretty sure itās December 11th at 7 pm. Good luck everyone!
Isnāt Dec 11 early?? Ahhh was that how earlier it was in the past years?
In the past three years, theyāve been released the second Wednesday of December, so Iām just making an educated guess based on that.
Wow. Well good luck everyone
Best of luck to everyone!
Does Princeton send Likely Letters for SCEA ?
Good luck everyone.
@maddy09 I actually donāt knowā¦ I think they may give out likely letters to recruited athletesā¦ I havenāt heard of anyone getting a likely letter from my school that wasnāt an athlete, and that applies to any university, not just Princeton. I donāt know if Princeton gives out likely letters to exceptional students that arenāt athletes, but I may be wrong.
My application kind of checks the box for the typical Ivy applicant (high SAT, number one in class, president of several clubs, on the Honor Council, captain of Varsity sports team, good essays, good recs, and a great interview experience.) Do you think sending an experiment to space and getting two papers published about it in a national society along with starting a non-profit significantly enhance my chances as a wow factor? Because, from what Iāve heard, Ivy acceptance is kind of a crapshoot unless you have a wow factor of sorts.
Thatās an impressive profile @tennisguy14
So when do we expect our decisions? 11th Dec? @riazuluaga14 @tennisguy14
Iām pretty sure December 11th, @maddy09 . This is based off the release dates from previous years.
