but i didnt cookiemomma! i didnt and im scared...

i got an email today saying they are revewing the applicants for a final read.. so i think some decisions are made while others are waiting for a last read. :)

where'd you get this e-mail from?

decisions will be mailed on the 10th, like every other college in the nation!

So you New Yorkers may know your fate on the 11th...bonne chance!

Don't you know that PW is on a first name basis with everyone in the Princeton admissions office? I told you guys he was going to be our source of information for when decisions will be coming out. Go PW!

So then....

Valdez - Stop worrying. It doesn't matter.

Dizzymom has been trying so hard to chill out in her rocking chair, but every time she reads a new post here she rocks a little faster and gets a little dizzier. White knuckles and sweaty palms at this point, because Dizzy-son has not received the second confirmation you have all been talking about. He doesn't know to be worried, having had the good sense not to find CC and become obsessive like his mother.

Since PW and the rest of you are omniscient, could you fill me in before full-up vertigo sets in?

Thanks,

Dizzymom

I wouldn't worry...a lot of people haven't gotten it.

No one has yet received a second confirmation that everything has been received. Only those who are missing something from their applications have gotten letters. No news is good news.

Kebree - my countdown clock is set to NOON, DECEMBER 13TH

i got the email from the assistant director of admissions.. she is in the class of '00. i didnt ask her if decisions are read. i just asked her if my file is complete, and she said it is from the computer records.. but she wasn't able to go and see my file to check the optional ref, which they do not log, since my file was out for processing. so i asked if processing means it's being read. and she said they are doing readings and making 'final decisions'. i dont think it will come out that early this year.. i'd say if people dont get the mail on the 14th. it's a defer. they always mail acceptees out 1 or 2 days early.

Just keep us posted. You get extra cookies!

ptonwannabe - thats not true. i know in the west many people that were accepted received their packages after those who were deferred did.

Cookiemom, thanks for the clarification.

PW - gulp. I don't know whether it's the idea of Dizzy-son having to process the rejection or the thought of all those other applications looming through the holiday break that is causing the nausea here. I think it's a blessing that there's so much homework right now that no one can really take the time to think about their ED apps...other than obsessed parents and those of you with genius IQ's have no need to study. Speaking of which, where are Zante and Gracilsae?

shrek2004 ,
i dont know about that. all the ppl in my region who applied ed got acc b4 def. one of my best frds got deferred last year and he knew he was deferred b/c someone else from vancouver has already been admitted.

That big pile of blank applications is making me a little nervous too. I want to be able to relax and enjoy the holidays.

one of the most controversial topics just came up, and i hate to make a new post. so ill write it here...
some ppl seem to think that people go to hpy just for the names... and that ppl at p/y are there cuz they didnt get into H... even though some are like that. i'd say over half are not...i don't understand why ppl would think so.. true harvard prob has the best name.. but it's name doesnt come from its undergrad. whereas princeton's mainly comes from its undergrad... i'd always thot when picking btw hpy, they are such great schools there is no way to clearly say one is better, other than little personal preferences... i know this has come up b4.. why did you pick princeton over h and y ?

for me... it's totally the fact that it has an awesome physics department and its undergrad focus in terms of academics : teaching and research... whereas i feel harvard engineering and phy really sucks... and profs are indifferent towards undergrad. and yale is just too liberal artsy.

like...completely ditto your opinions

i have my sights set on a major not offered at too many schools (ORFE). i know some ppl who are/have graduated from harvard and they dont seem to be as happy as those who are at princeton. the focus on undergrad is a huge plus--i think that princeton, unlike harvard or MIT, is a place where i can hopefully grow in character w/ ppl as or more motivated than I am.
