PRINCETON ED APPS, what are you sat scores?

they consider the environment as a whole. frankly, though, i think SAT test prep is done through a book, and that is pretty universal. i didn't take any classes, but just worked my ass off from a book, and it worked better than any prep classes. thats just me. but, if you really want to do well, just grab a book and study!

Random question that's probably already been answered a million times:

I'd like to give you a scenario:
Say an SAT II tester (we'll call him Robert, or Bobo, for short) signed up to send his scores to four schools (um...let's just say Princeton, Yale, Penn, and Stanford for the sake of argument). When Bobo took the test and got his score report back, the same score report went to those four schools, correct?

Okay, here comes the tricky part. Will Bobo's SAT I scores from March also be on that score report, or will Bobo have to fork up the cash to send a separate score report? Bobo would like to know because Bobo would really like to get into Princeton, but he knows he can't if his SAT I scores don't show up. :-)

mahajan, how do you know how Princeton evaluates people on a scale? Can you tell more about that?

lol bobo

when you sign up for a test, and sign up to send your scores to four schools, all your scores go there...everything you've taken and released before this test ur signing up for. So yes, Bobo's SAT scores will be there too =)

Same question up here

Bless the child!

bows to zant

A?MuchAsimas gracias! You just made Bobo very happy.

Looks like we're okay, Martin Valdez :)

1480; 760M, 720V (and yea, it should be in the roster right?)

lol
de nada
hahahah Bobo

hi you guys.
about the 1-5 system: i read it in a new york times education page article about the revamped SAT scores. It is also mentioned in one of the Fiske guides and also Hernandez's "Acing the College Application."

how does the sat 1 factor into the 1 - 5 scale, do you know?

Do we know what the cutoff for a 5 is at Princeton? A 1500?

so they really have the 1-5 system? will 1520 be a 5? maybe not, considering that quite a lot of princeton applicants must have near-perfect scores...
then, how about the sat2s? can a great 4th subject score affect the decision? there's this friend in my school who got 5600 for 7 sat2 tests that he has taken (crazy, i know). will that help him?

princeton is different. it doesnt only have a scale for sat. it has a scale FOR ALL ACADEMIC things. read the other posts.. so even a 1300 can get u a 1 at times. and sometimes 1600 can get u a 2 only.

there's no way of knowing how they do it

I'm a 1510 and my bf (who's also applying early) is a 1520

ahh the pressure!

Same thing for me though =/

i'm actually not stressed about it anymore, because it's all out of my hands - i no longer can have any direct bearing on the thickness of the envelope that will arrive on dec 15

I was referring to bf/gf applying together. That's just like, double-pressure.

oh, is your boyfriend applying too? GAH that would be an awful amount of pressure, i'm stressed just thinking about the possibilities...

yeah, cause if only one of us gets in......ok....not thinking about it anymore......too icky....
