I'm still deciding btwn Princeton ED and MIT EA, I am planning to visit sometime soon.
Chances please? I'm hoping my URM status will be a tip factor.
Hoping to do molecular biology with a concentration in Neuroscience. =p

I wouldn't write about how big a failure you are; try to write about something successful. Nobody likes a loser.

Haha, sorry that was my MIT Essay (The One that asks about a failure =p), I'll probably write something else for the Common App.

Bump It up!

I say B

"I'm still deciding btwn Princeton ED and MIT EA, I am planning to visit sometime soon."

can't u apply to both? or does ED restrict you from doing EA

Like everyone, you have a good chance. It's just fate/luck whether you get in or not.

As for which school to pick, think hard about what you want these four years more than just big name. Mit and princeton are very different socially, geographically, and in basically every way except both are famous.

"Clendenenator", could you please elaborate on the differences between MIT & Princeton? Especially socially. Thanks!

With ED you can't go EA anywhere else (at least at Princeton)

OP, be sure that you have one more SAT II. Princeton requires that you report three SAT II scores, and "if you are considering a degree in engineering at Princeton, we strongly prefer that your SAT Subject Tests include either physics or chemistry" http://www.princeton.edu/pr/admissions/u/appl/06/.

Good luck with your college applications! Also yes, definitely have an extensive visit of each campus. Applying ED to Princeton is an especially big commitment. You need to be sure you'll love attending Princeton before checking that ED box. MIT is an awesome school too, just depends on which school fits you the best.

SAT2s:M2C-800 USH/BioE:790

Sorry what I meant to type is
M2C- 800 USH-790 BioE-790

=p

Oh yeah if anyone has visited MIT and Princeton please feel free to compare them socially heh. Thanks everyone!

Oyso: I'm not a college student yet, but i've done a lot of online searches and stuff. Half of this could be stereotypes, but here goes:

It seems to me MIT is more of a typical "nerd" school. A lot of the people are obviously into math/sci/eng and a lot of that goes hand in hand with dungeons and dragons and star trek, if you get my jist. Princeton is smart, but normal...almost jockish, actually, based on their large sports emphasis. Both schools have parties (although i was shocked to find out MIT was a bit of a party school). Boston probably has more stuff to do outside of campus.

Hope this all helped.

To add to what i just posted ...

Princeton is a much prettier campus with no frats (well...no frat houses--parties are mostly in the eating clubs). MIT is kinda ugly and about half the people go greek because of limitted housing spaces. I've heard that people at mit tend to feel a little depressed because they find out they aren't the smartest people in the universe, and that MIT has the highest suicide rate in the country. I'm trying NOT to bash mit, but all the facts i have are seem a bit that way.

Academically-Mit: math/sci/eng and a few other like business are best
Princeton: pretty much all around.

Princeton is undergrad oriented, which is nice. MIT probably is somewhat, too, but i dunno.
