Don't plan on rowing in college

any feedback?

one more attempt to gain some insight...

Rowing is BIG at Princeton. Why would't you "play that card?"

Well I am pretty decent, but not on the Princeton level for recruitment (they take 5-6 of the top 20 in the nation) and also, I want to have a life/focus on acdemics in college and rowing takes that away. I could probably walk on but I wouldn't do too well, and my height/weight combination puts me as a 'tweener between lightweight and heavyweight.

This is a hard one. Princeton likes legacies but your SAT is below their average and your ECs are really weak. Are you a strong legacy i.e. parent was very active or big giver? If you can get your SAT to their average, just another 50 points on math and cr, I'd say 50% chance. If your parent is an influential alum, better chance.

^^That guy is a little delusional. Your 1440 is fine for any school, but you should submit your ACT anyway (it's equivalent to about 1530 SAT). Wonderful SATIIs, 7 APs is impressive, and you obviously have an impeccable academic record (which is the most important thing). And weak ECs? He's got four years of student council, four years debate (which is plenty right there), a varsity sport for a couple of years, plenty of others, not that ECs matter a fraction as much as the transcript...you're right on track. I'd say you have a very good chance at Princeton; it's hard to imagine a better qualified student without a hook.

EDIT: Lol, I didn't see that you were a legacy...dude, go for it. I'd be very surprised if you got denied.

I'm retaking the SAT I's in October so we shall see how that goes... I already sent in the ACT and my old score

If you want a shot apply ed. Half their acceptances are ed. This years class has 608 admitted males in it. Now subtract international students, , urms, athletic recruits etc. and you can imagine how many spots are open. If you look hard enough on their website you can find all the exact #'s. It is a crapshoot for white males. Apply early and good luck. Legacy acceptances total 10% (men and women combined).

Really...2180 is good enough for Princeton I think, but higher can only help. Your GPA is GREAT and your ECs are plentiful. ED + Legacy definitely helps. I would say you have over 50% chance. Make your essays really shine! Good luck!

Hah i'm trying to make my essays shine.. too bad its not my opinion that decides wether or not they actually do.
