Hello, this is the official Princeton Fall 2021 transfer thread. Best of luck to everyone this year.
Thank you for starting the thread! I’m applying this year as well–I’m a community college student in California. Best of luck to everyone!
Hey, I am sure everyone applying has impressive stats, however, let’s not post any here. It doesn’t do any of us any good to compare. We will or won’t get it in for a variety of reasons.
Let’s use this forum to ask general questions and support each other.
Did I miss someone’s post, or was this a general statement? Anyway, I agree that admissions results can’t be predicted based on our stats. Fingers crossed we will get in! Have you submitted your application already?
Just a general statement, we are all going to be impressive in our own right. I just feel like stats is the one thing that we should veer away from because it diminishes our accomplishments. Stats are for the admissions committees.
Yes, I submitted my application last week. I submitted my transcripts and I am waiting on one more LOR to be submitted as well.
What is your major? I was thinking about submitting an arts supplement even though it doesn’t have anything to do with my major but I am wondering if it will have an impact.
Oh, I see! I was just curious if I missed anyone’s chance-me post that was deleted or otherwise disappeared. I totally agree that stats are for the admissions committees–thank you for stating that in advance for all of us.
Awesome! As for me, all my LORs have been submitted, but I’m still working on my application, haha. I’m sure it can’t hurt you to submit an arts supplement if it shows your passion in the non-academic domain in a way that is coherent with the rest of your application even though it has nothing to do with your intended major.
To those of you applying to Princeton this year as transfers, what are your majors? I’m just interested in seeing how many people on CC are applying and also getting to know what your interests are while we wait for our admissions results. It’s a tedious (and anxiety-inducing) process, but we’ll get through this!
I wonder why transfer threads are so dead this year. Anyway, I just submitted my Princeton application about 8 hours ago haha. I’m also a comp lit major @elmooo! I’m not getting my hopes up too high because I literally wrote all my essays this morning. It was not a fun experience…
Does anyone who submitted an application to transfer to Princeton for Fall 2021 know when we are supposed to hear back?
It was May 6 last year! I’m guessing around the same time this year?
ahhhh so far away
Haha only one month to go but feels so far away! We’ll be there in no time, though. Currently trying to de-stress by binging some shows…
yeah i’ve been watching a bunch of tv to cope with the stress of college apps and awaiting decions but it just made me push off all of my school work so im falling behind in a couple classes
Hi Guys! I made a discord for those of trying to transfer to Ivy/Ivy+ Schools this year! Please join: Discord
Thanks!
I called admissions yesterday, and they said decisions would be released Mid-May if anyone was wondering!
Hey ya’ll! Just saw this thread and I am so happy I found you all! I’ve been looking to connect to other PU transfer applicants. I am a bit late but so happy I’m here. Im a sociology major by the way! Sending you all positive energy in these next few weeks as we all await our decisions!
Hey y’all! Found the Princeton transfer thread finally! How is it going with y’all? Do we anticipate decisions like last year or did someone email admissions and get a date? Thanks!
Hey @kingkenny, I’m sure the decision date is on everyone’s mind right now. @mackkirk1 called admissions last week and received the “Mid-May” guestimate.
Given that signing day for traditional admits was yesterday (05/03/2021), it’s likely that our decisions will come out at the end of this week or beginning of next week.
Side note - I saw mentions of candidates receiving email notifications with the official decision date & time (e.g., “Friday at 5:00 p.m. EDT”). Not sure if that’s correct or not.
Best of luck to you!
Thank you, @nfraco, good luck to you as well!
I contacted the AO and they said they were now waiting to get their decision date confirmed, which pretty much implied they had concluded the application review process. They also said that we would receive an email once it’d been confirmed. I’d say definitely this week or by the end of next week at the latest, around the same time as other colleges’ decision releases. So it’s now all out of our hands and we can only hope for the best! We’ve worked hard and have done our best and we should be proud of ourselves regardless of the outcome. Positive vibes to you all!
