@edwin7: If possible, I would definitely retake the SAT. On principle, I would not like to think that Princeton would reject a student based on a single score; however, a 640 is well below the 25th percentile, which is currently a 710. As such, it stands a strong chance of wrecking an otherwise solid application you’ve put together.

I’m considering applying ORFE. Is there any benefit to applying ORFE as opposed to Econ? For example, I’ve heard that there’s an increased admission chance for females applying to engineering…is this true?

Also, I have demonstrated interest in Econ throughout my HS Career (self-studied Micro and Macro and received 5s, taught Econ to gifted elementary students, etc.)…would this translate to interest in ORFE as well? I’m a bit confused on how similar they are…

I could still be pre-med if I were in the engineering program, correct?

Sorry if these are silly questions… This is just really the first engineering program I’ve looked into so I’m not too familiar with it.

Thanks :)

I have a story/essay that I’d really like to write for my princeton supp, but it doesnt go along with choices 1-3 prompts. It COULD go with choice 4, but the quote isn’t really from a book, but it’s just a good quote. In the prompt, it asks for a quote from a book or essay I have read in the last 3 years… how strict is this? could i just take a quote and use it? do i have to cite what book it was that it is in?

would a speech count as an essay/book?

which fraternities hold 2nd semester rush?

Q: Which fraternities hold 2nd semester rush?
A: The crappy ones.

Hey how are you doing is there any way you can help me write a detailed paragraph on life or anything ? I’m a terriable writter and i go to yale. Is there somebody that can help me?

@Subus23

What?

I had a question on the Princeton Supplement. The options for the prompts are very meaningful and I was wondering whether that means that the supplement plays a stronger role in the application or not.

If have a online portfolio which has all the smartphone applications I’ve made and various engineering projects I’ve worked on. These things are an definitely important part of me as an applicant. I mention a couple of the things on the site in my essays, so it would be nice if admissions could look at them. Will Princeton look at website? What is the best way to show this to admissions?

I submitted the common application to Princeton last month, not realizing I could make duplicate versions of the common app and submit different versions to each school.
I have since written a much better common application essay, and the one I previously used would be perfect for Princeton’s supplement essay. It would help me out so much if there was a way for me to withdraw my common app submission and submit it again with a different essay.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

Question:
Does Princeton have a SAT score cut-off for intl students? Usually, the uni doesn’t seem to admit any applicant with a score below 2100 :(

Actually, I have the same question. Although there technically is no cut-off point, I have not heard of any unusual cases from Princeton where a student with a slightly lower SAT score was accepted.

I don’t think Princeton follows any severe cut-off rule. That’s the beauty of U.S universities :)

@Spacebound:

YES you can make several versions of the Common App and submit that to each school. If you would like to make changes to your Princeton Application, you should send or fax materials that you would like them to review.

Somebody probably already asked this question, but this thread is huge!
I read on the website that Princeton would like applicants to submit their applications by December 15th. Is there any advantage (admissions-wise) in doing so or is it just easier for the Princeton AdCom to organize everything if applications don’t come flooding in on the due date? Thanks so much!

I want to send my school forms via mail.
I want to ask where i should send them???

Thank you

@helen, Check Princeton’s website for a specific address, or google their admissions office and send it to them.

Current student at Princeton. I can’t go home over intersession, so I was wondering what we can do on campus… I know that some people are training to be art museum tour guides, and that others are doing a Halftime retreat. However, are there any other opportunities or events going on? The official website didn’t seem too helpful, and I haven’t found anything from the gazillion mailing lists I’m on either…

Some thoughts on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks! I don’t want to die of boredom over break, haha, and all of my friends are going home. :(
