1000 words is way too much. Try cutting it down.

Its not about cutting down. Its about estimating how much I can write.
Besides, why would they give a space limit of 7900 characters if they didn't want a 1000 word essay?

That is because 7900 is a default character limit afaik. Keep it to 500-750 maximum. :-)

Is it possible to get accepted this early according to https://www.collegedata.com/cs/admissions/admissions_tracker_result.jhtml?schoolId=111&classYear=2013?

What were your statistics? SAT scores, GPA, Rank, Extra Circulars, etc. Also, would you say Princeton Economics is #1 in the world? How hard is it to get into compared to other departments? What are the rooms at Whitman College like?

Dudu: some students get in early through QuestBridge, which partners with Princeton. Also, some of them might be athletes who have gotten 'likely letters,' but technically not acceptances yet.

Saugus: Princeton Econ is strong, and certainly one of the top few in the world. It's hard to say that it's #1 in the whole world though - let alone the country (Chicago, Harvard, Berkeley, for example, all have competitive programs as well). It's a fairly large department at the undergrad level, and I don't think they reject anyone, as long as you sign into econ the first time around. I've heard that it's hard to switch into econ junior year though, because of how big the department is.
Rooms in Whitman are really nice, as they're still very new. They're mostly singles and quads, all communal bathrooms (no bathrooms in the rooms). Sizes range from small-ish singles to huge five-room quads (but these are almost always taken by seniors, so don't worry about getting them :)).

princeton econ is top notch. all the princeton talk about enjoying the benefits of both a leading research institution and an undergraduate focus is especially true of econ.

however, keep in mind that some areas of econ are stronger than others at princeton. macro, industrial econ, labor econ, finance and most of the traditional fields are great. but behavioral econ and development econ are not as developed as in some other universities. i would say that the guys at MIT are a notch above for development econ for example.

I applied to financial aid in my common appl form but now my parents told me to change it and they are able to pay at least first year. Do I have to inform the school or only is it enough not to fill financial aid application forms. Thanks in advance

I would inform princeton, and the rest of your schools, just in case.

Is Princeton good for Psychology or INternational Studies?

Dartmouth is ... you wanna ... go there! :P

i have a question regarding interviews

i know that they usually play a very small role in admissions; however, i got an email from the guy who set up my local alumni interview and he told me that my interviewer wrote a very positive review of me and that she thought i was among the top 3-5 applicants she has met (he also specifically said to not get my hopes up as princeton admissions is unpredictable).....now my question is does a really positive review like this have a more significant impact than normal? will this help or is it too insignificant to play a huge role?

International Relations -- look up Woody Woo college -- excellent

Psych. -- a couple of great professors -- not sure about the program itself

bicycle - no insider insight here, but my guess is that a really positive interview is a "tip" factor. I.e, if you're on the border, or if it comes down to you or a comparable applicant, it might get you the green light, but if they weren't seriously considering already you it won't matter.

Its certainly a good thing, but you are right not to get your hopes up!

I do know that Princeton does not consider grade 9 grades. However, does Princeton consider the activites that you do or participated in Grade 9? I am in grade 9 and spearheaded a cancer awareness cum donation drive ($7000+) and I was just wondering if I could put that into my CV.

@Wannadartmouth

They definitely consider activities from your entire HS career.

What is the percentage of undergraduate students admitted to Princeton?

9-10% of undergraduates are admitted to Princeton.

^what about only international students?

how rigorous is econ at Priceton ?? Do the students pull all-nighters on a regular basis ??

How's the surrounding town ??
