Princeton Forum Rocks!

I was overlooking the forums of the other schools and came to the realization that only Princeton has such a connected community of posters. We all really care about Princeton and about each other. Congrats to everyone on the Princeton forum, you guy are awesome. I hope we will see each other next year!

The other people in other forums are so rude/standoffish.
We are by far the nicest, most friendliest people on CC

very true, very true!!

PS- omz your post count is over 35 now.. lol.. you should go for the record

i agree..i asked a question on the columbia board about the midyear report and got some snobby horrible responses...makes me love princeton/hate columbia even more

You do realize we scared away all the real princeton students, don't you??

haha we might have, but it's true that we're nicer.

yeah i'm awesome, i've been a member for exactly 3 weeks and this is my 762 post =)

Ya I made a post and got no response, twice. I bet since we are all so down to earth and fun we will have higher admissions rates. Karma/they want personality lol

teehee we're the only ones without the sticks up our butts =P

I agree. I didn't even have a clear first choice until I visited Princeton last Wednesday, and I already feel as if I'm a part of the "family" here. Best of luck to everyone. :)

hahaha well i try my best.

so carmel, are u doing RD for P'ton or ED?

Hey, I am hardcore Cornell forum poster and we are all very nice. I think. But you all seem very nice and informative as well.

** I am not even from the south yet it was still hard not to say y'all.

I'm applying RD for two reasons: (a) I need to compare financial aid packages, and (b) I didn't want to commit to a school I hadn't visited, and I didn't get a chance to visit until after the ED deadline had passed.

ach44-- I always stop myself from saying y'all on these public forums because I'm from Texas and I don't want to enforce the stereotype.

But hey I was originally from New York.

So I deny all my Southern-ness. =P

Haha. I know what you mean zanna. My family is hardcore WASPy and I hate it. I deny the fact that my family is 100% WASP. Lol. :) I also realize about your 758 posts in like 3 weeks. I signed up likr 3 days ago and have like 180 or something. haha.

This thread is all my thoughts exactly! I pretty much just read and watched on the Princeton forum for like three weeks until I decided that I could jump in on things and even though I'm not part of the ED family I still think this is the nicest group of people anywhere on CC! Even though I got into a little tussle with some people in the beginning (because everybody hates a URM, I know, I know) I think that ya'll are amazing! I love seeing like ohmisszanna in the UT forum and being like in my head "She's my princeton friend!!!"

Does anybody else feel like...away from home when you go into regular College Admissions? It's like that's all good and well but when you come back to Princetn forum...then you're home.

Haha, as for the ya'll? I can't stop myself. Saying "you all" sounds way too weird to me. I'm born and raised Texan though...so it's not all my fault.

YES!! Exactly I feel like apprehensive to say anything, not here though.

aw yay I feel special.
Same here.

I say y'all when I'm talking at school with my friends.
Once we were discussing how people can say "you all."
It just sounds so awkward like you have to go out of your way to say it lol

ewwww "ya'll" sounds so fake/pretentious. like if i hear someone(sometimes even ppl from the south) say "ya'll", i can't help but wonder if they are trying to act "cool" or not. am i just weird?(dun be afraid to say yes)

I honestly didn't know that people said "you all" as two separate words until like...5th grade. I think that if you're not from the South and you don't live in the South and you say it, then yeah, that's kind of weird. But if you were born here and live here...you really can't help it.
