I got invited to something called FSI. I was wondering what this was and if it was worthwhile.

Thanks.

FSI is a summer program for incoming freshman who's high schools might not have adequately prepared them for the challenging Princeton workload. I know a few people who did FSI and all had positive experiences. I can't find any information about it on the web, so your best bet is to contact FSI and ask them to put you in touch with a past participant.

who get's invited to this? Everyone?

Just people who haven't taken some courses that one might need in college. It's basically a summer remedial/catch-up semester; like, if you didn't learn all of pre-calculus and trig during your high school career, you'd be learning that there.

Ohhh. Okay. Cool. Thanks.

why would princeton accept someone who needs FSI and then offer them FSI?

Man, I checked for posts about FSI and couldn’t find any! I should’ve looked better before posting mine.

Invitees to FSI are usually either 1) from disadvantaged schools/backgrounds, 2) varsity athletes, or 3) URMs.
