Princeton Interview Coming Up- Have Some Questions

So as the title says, I have my Princeton interview comimg up. It’s on Saturday and it’s over Skype. It seems quite late in the interview season, but this will be my first so far. I have a few questions regarding it:

  1. What should I wear for a Skype college interview???
  2. What kind of questions should I be expecting? (Anybody who already had theirs this year, your input would be extremely valuable)
  3. Is there anything I should do to prepare?

Thanks for any responses or tips you may have!

  1. Just wear what you would wear to school.
  2. The interviewer wants to know who you are, including your activities, academic and non-academic interests, how you pursued those interests, things that you couldn’t mention in your application, etc
  3. Just write down stuff that you can talk about so that you dont have to think about what you want to say during the interview.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the useful information @IlluminatiIsReal! Very helpful. Since I wear a uniform to school… I’ll probably just wear like a t-shirt and a quarter zip or something casual, which is what I assume you meant. Pretty much the only thing that could be more useful would be specific questions from this year’s interviews (so feel free to add those to help anybody that hasn’t had one yet [including me :D]), but I understand if people wouldn’t want to post those for whatever reason.

The interviewer can ask questions like:

Why do you want to study in the US (if you are international)?
Why Princeton specifically?
What do you want to do after Princeton? Where do you imagine yourself to be after 10 years? What kind of work would you like to do?
Why do you want to study your subject at Princeton?
What activities outside school show your interest in that subject?
Tell me about yourself, background, community, etc…

Also, prepare intelligent questions about Princeton so that it looks like you have done your fair share of research on Princeton.

I interviewed with Princeton a month ago, questions included:

The Basics: Tell me about yourself. Why Princeton? What do you want to study, why this subject at Princeton? What do you outside of school? (etc.)

The Odd Ones:
What is something weird about you?
Could you describe your best friend?
What is your favorite type of music, why? (I do a lot of music…so maybe that’s why that question)
What are you most insecure about going into college?

Tips: Breathe, Smile a lot, Don’t be scared to think about your answer before answering.

(p.s. I reread your post about the interview being “this Saturday (2/13)” so it’s probably done already  I’m just gonna post this anyway for future reference, if that’s ok… haha) Hope the interview went fantastically!

@musicmeister22 Yup I did have it already, and it went well! All the basic questions you said, I had, but I can’t say I had any of the others… it seems that they ask some questions based on what you say (e.g. I’m the president of my DECA club and she asked how I’ve made an impact on the club), and others just depend on the interviewer. Good advice for future interviewees though, hopefully, they find this post useful.
