I submitted everything on Oct 25 and still haven’t gotten an interview notification. I know other people who live near me who have already had their Princeton interview…is this a cause for worry? Should I call up the admissions office and ask them about it? Also, how do you get an interview notification - email, cell #, home #?

For anyone who got an invitation for any interview, was it after everything was submitted, or were you waiting on something like SAT scores, letters of recommendation, etc?

Don’t fret, kiddos. In the past few years while Princeton had regular-decision only, they offered interviews to the majority of applicants. However when they used to be on the early-decision plan, that wasn’t the case. My sibling and I both applied early decision in the late 2000’s. Neither of us were offered an interview, and we both got in.

Also remember, Princeton interviews are done by alumni volunteers, not admissions professionals. It’s a good chance to learn more about Princeton, and a good chance for your interviewer to include information about you in their report that might not have fit anywhere on your application. But it doesn’t make a big impact on your admissions decision. Something super awful would have to happen for it to matter.

^^^ Exactly. I interview for a Princeton peer. To break the ice, I tell interviewees that they really can’t screw up the interview unless they stab me in the forehead with their fork or toss their coffee on me.
