Hey guys.
I wanted to know more about the Princeton University interview policy.
Does anyone have any kind of statistics as to what percentage of applicants are invited for an interview? Is every successful applicant interviewed?
I am an international student living in France and applying to Princeton SCEA. Do you think they’ll arrange an interview for me?
Thanks
Princeton tries to offer an interview to every applicant. In recent years, application numbers have soared dramatically and without sufficient alumni willing to conduct interviews, it has not always been possible. There is no correlation between the strength of your application and the offer of an interview. International applicants are often interviewed via Skype or even by alumni living nearby.
For what it’s worth, I know two alumni interviewers very well and none of the candidates they interviewed received an offer of admission in spite of the fact that a couple were remarkably strong applicants and received a glowing report. My sense is that interviews carry little weight in the admission decision making process except where there is an instance that would indicate possible fraud or other deviant behavior.
