I'm currently a high school junior interested in international relations. Which program should I select: the Junior Statesmen of America Summer School at Princeton, or the Center for Talented Youth at Princeton?

At JSA, I would take International Relations, whereas at CTY, I would take Global Politics: Human Rights and Justice. I will apply for financial aid from both, but the sticker price for CTY is lower because I could commute (CTY's $3465 vs JSA's $4500).

I know both of these programs are expensive and not very selective, but I was rejected from TASP and either not nominated for, uninterested in, or unaware of the few cheaper humanities programs available. In addition, I would like to attend either of these three-week programs because of a genuine desire to study alongside other politics-oriented high school students during the summer, not because of a perceived advantage in college admissions. Again, I would only attend if I could obtain some financial aid.

I attended CTY the summer before eighth grade and enjoyed it, but I'm not sure that another CTY experience would be academically valuable to me.

Is there a marked difference between these two? Can anyone here recommend one over the other, whether based on prestige, worth, or your personal experience at either camp? Thanks!
