<p>Does princeton consider what your major is going to be? Of course they do...I've heard that already. </p>
<p>They must look at everything, from science to math to literature to get a complete overview of the applicant, but they focus on the area of the intended major to see if the applicant has had accomplihsments/interest in that area, right?</p>
<p>My suggestion is to play off your strengths.</p>
<p>Not necessarily. I put economics as my #1 major choice (that's definitely not the case now), but I had nothing to show for it. No business stuff, no math awards, nothing of the like. Most of my awards/accomplishments were in fine arts, foreign languages, and other miscellaneous categories, but definitely not anything close to math or economics.</p>
<p>Since it really doesn't affect anything when you get there, put whatever you want, haha. If you think it'll give you a boost, do it, but I know in my case it didn't hurt or help at all.</p>
<p>I was told, when I went and visited last March, that they have the department look over the application if you specify. I.E., I'm a math person, so they have math department people look and see if they want me, since they can evaluate my stuff better than someone who has no idea about math.</p>
