This makes me depressed, but happy at the same time. For some reason seeing the post makes me feel like my efforts to gain admission are now lessened.

Eh, it’s his fault. I don’t feel so bad. I mean if his toolishness was so overt that people skimming CC to find a quote could pick up on it, it was definitely worth pointing out.

And now he’s going to say something convoluted and verbose to contradict me. Whatevs. Oh, and I don’t dislike mifune by any means. I just think that he spends a lot of time belittling others, or that’s the persona he conveys online, which I’m sure is different from what he’s truly like.

Yes, silverturtle brought that Princeton blog to my attention.

But in what way is “toolish, long-winded analysis” an insult? I did not find her comment offensive by any means since it was basically a reaffirmation that I was right. I was not simply pulling a Dan Quayle or a Donald Rumsfeld (both were notorious for their instances of empty, effusive political dialogue).

And no I do not belittle others online; I am simply purposeful, but not necessarily close-minded, regarding my individual values and preserving the integrity of my own character. This was particularly true during that Yale thread.

But if the author did not agree with what I said then she can create an account and we can have a “toolish, long-winded” debate on the roles of the various initiative factors that lead to application increases.
