Princeton Nightlife

How are the parties at Princeton and how do they compare with parties at other ivies (particularly brown)? I would like to know how often they happen, where they take place, and what substances are used. Any additional information on Princeton Nightlife will be greatly appreciated.

Social life is centered around the eating clubs, which hold weekend (Thursday and Saturday) parties that are more or less open to the entire campus. Some of the bicker clubs require a pass to gain entrance. Students often pregame at room parties before heading to the Street. On other nights, there’s usually at least one club on tap, but you generally need to be a member or a member’s guest to get in. Parties at the clubs revolve around beer, dancing, and drinking games, but you can also find drugs if you know where to look.

How does the practice of partying on Thursday fit into the school’s schedule? Why do they do this and what are classes like on Friday?

A lot of students don’t have classes on Friday. Of the students that do, a lot go out on Thursday night anyway.

So there is basically a 4 day school week every week?

Unless you’re taking math/science/introductory foreign language courses, yes, there is basically a four-day school week every week.
