“Princeton University has offered admission to 13 transfer students for entry in fall 2018, the first transfer admissions since the University reinstated its transfer program. The renewed program is aimed at especially encouraging applicants from low-income, military or community college backgrounds.” …
Some career Facebook commentators were “underwhelmed” with the amount of accepted applicants, especially after the hype that was built towards it.
Despite the small number, they definitely kept their promise: mostly community college students, 8 military veterans, many self-identified people of color.
Honestly, I don’t believe the number of accepted applicants will deviate too much from that in the upcoming years. I’m glad they reinstated the program though!
I got a call from their admissions office yesterday, and they stressed how difficult it was to decide among so many talented and unique applicants. The officer I spoke with was very familiar with my essays, stories, etc… It was endearing, and I committed shortly after.
(p.s.: if you see anyone who is in the process of applying to Princeton as a transfer student and needs advice/suggestions, feel free to @ me, I’ll be more than happy to help!)
@AGoodFloridian given your very unique experience , I do hope you take some time to document your journey (and whatever else you picked up in your various Princeton interactions), I think it will be very helpful to future applicants.
@AGoodFloridian congrats!! I still have 1 more year to go but Im curious, what were your stats? I cant find them anywhere. Thanks!
